Snowball Realm
The Snowball Realm is an elemental plane of existence tied to Glaciamancy. It is characterised by the endless stretch of thin ice coating sub-zero waters, infinitely deep. Glaciamancers draw magic and energy from this realm, powering all related spells.
Icy Expanse
The Snowball Realm is very distinct in its geography. The realm itself is typically very flat, ice-covered oceans. The water below is colder than the atmosphere above, making it a nasty way to perish if the ice shatters.
Cutting through these vast oceans are gigantic monuments. While they appear small compared to the endless oceans, these monuments stand over a hundred metres above the ice. Hidden atop the winding stairs around these monuments are ancient unreliable texts depicting fabled ice witches and their frozen familiars.
The bitter temperatures, coupled with everlasting snow and wind, make traversing this realm a difficult task without proper gear. Many succumb to the glacial climates, stuck in this realm for eternity. The Snowball Realm never claims lives, but it does hold them in mortal suspension.
Accessing the Snowball Realm
Most believe elemental planes to be completely inaccessible. Few witches with enough experience in glaciamancy discover various methods of accessing this realm. Once this realm is accessed, a door remains permanently ajar, allowing stronger concentrations of magic to be extracted in the future.
Summoning Circles
Summoning circles are the traditional way to open a door to any other plane of existence. Those looking to discretely enter the Snowball Realm for whatever reason avoid summoning circles, as these leave a magical trace.Siren Songs
When a siren song is played at a high enough frequency, the ice on a frozen puddle, pond, or lake will shatter in a perfect circle. The edge of the ice will grow a neon teal, and a portal to the Snowball Realm is formed.Shatterspace
If one is unlucky enough to enter the Shatterspace, finding a door to the Snowball Realm is possible. Finding a door is incredibly difficult, but those who have succeeded noted feeling an chill in the air, leading them in the right direction.Ecology
The Snowball Realm is inhabited by numerous organisms, many inanimals. Snowflake spirits are plentiful, the sole reason snowfall is everpresent. Tiny bioluminescent organisms swim below the ice, their glowing bodies visible on the surface. Whistling souls glide across the lakes taking on the forms of elegant figure skaters.
