Galevis

Eggy Placeholder by Dr Emily Vair-Turnbull

Galevis is a seraphenic planet in the Bloo System, known for having precisely a million orbital rings. The planet's atmosphere is incredibly dense, few spacecrafts having enough thrust power to push through.

The planet itself has no native sophonts. It is the legal property of the galevians, mammalian people inhabiting many of the 98 moons. Galevians are protective of the planet, having idolised it for thousands of years, embedded in the people's culture and history. They are not yet technologically advanced enough to explore Galevis, but frequently permit foreign exo-scientists to study the planet from within.

Galevis is an unusally bright orange. The abundance of masauleite in the atmosphere creates this lustrous hue. Galevis reflects a lot of light, as a result visible from hundreds of light years away. Its rings are much more dull, presenting as rings of dark browns and greys. In some areas thick masses of blue and purple algae and spacemoss have spread, providing nutrients for roaming herbivores. Most of Galevis's ecosystems are situated on these orbital rings.

Galevis is pretty high on my list to visit. I hear I need some kind of fancy spaceship to travel through it? Something about the planet being so dense? I don't know, I've not looked into it. I'm lazy.

So is Galevis pronounced 'gail-viss' or 'galleh-viss'? How strong is its gravitational pull? On a scale of 1-100, how hospitable is it?   Typo: "Tehy are not yet technologically advanced enough to explore Galevis..."

It's pronounced galleh-viss! Its gravitational pull must be quite strong, and I'd put it around a 10 for hospitability. Any creatures living on the planet is designed to cope, anything else would struggle/not survive </3
