Ison Copper Mine

Nestled to the north of Mount Sedimus is the Ison Copper Mine, the largest copper mine on Hell. As more copper is discovered around the base of the Ison Hill, the mine continues to expand.

The Ison Copper Mine has grown from a small group of fifty employees to a mass of nearly a thousand. Operating on such large scale also requires advanced machinery that can automate most processes. The copper mine is operated by Karkhala Industries.

History

The Ison Copper Mine has been operational for nearly seventy years. In its early days, territorial helsauruses nesting on the northern face of Mount Sedimus were common threats, often jeopardising the safety of employees and machinery.

Large veins of copper had already been detected surface level, which allowed for funding to be poured into the initial construction of the mine. Fairly advanced machinery was provided - this didn't allow for automated harvesting, but the process of refining copper ore was.

As more copper ores were discovered deeper within the hill, more money was provided to improve the mine's infrastructure and operations. Handouts from onlooking investors looking for a small steady profit helped lift the mines to new heights. With investments from several large names, the mines were able to fully automate the process of mining copper, leaving workers to monitor these machines.

Eventually, to minimise the threat of helsauruses, three large sonic resonators were constructed. They released powerful sound waves that scared off the territorial dinosaurs. In the last five years, the resonators have begun to destabilise the mineshafts. The collapse of several strips of mines has been flagged by the GSec Mining Safety Authority, who have previously had a number of concerns over the Ison Copper Mine.

In the last thirty days the presidents of the copper mine and Karkhala Industries have been assembling various documents proving the safety of workers. The validity of said documents is questionable.
