Snowflake Crystal
Snowflake crystals are precious gems found exclusively within the Snowball Realm. They are one of the biggest exports of the Kauzen Empire, who access the Snowball Realm through their ice giant, Kauzen V. Snowflake crystals capture and store memories of a person - to re-live those memories, the crystal is swallowed. Simply rub the crystal to preserve the last few minutes of your memories. A single crystal can only be used once, but copies can be made using duplication spells.
These crystals are found rarely on lakebeds, deep underneath thick, almost impenetrable ice. The snowflake embedded in the crystal glows bright, allowing them to be spotted even from hundreds of metres away and in thick fog. Adventurers of the Snowball Realm claim these crystals are disorienting, and often cause people to lose their way.
Some believe these crystals to contain the essence of a deceased snowflake spirit.
Kauzen Export
The Kauzen Empire are the Milky Way's biggest exporters of snowflake crystals, among many other magical items.
The Empire spans eight planets, including an ice giant. Kauzen V's core acts as a doorway to the Snowball Realm, glaciamancers drawing magic and energy from this realm, powering all related spells.
Most icecasters carry several snowflake crystals in their pockets at any one time, in order to capture memories in the moment. With at least a billion icecasters in the Milky Way, there is constant high demand for these precious items.
