Pastel City

Pastel City is a sector of Razhea Capita situated on the Pastel Canyon, a massive abandoned quarry site spanning more than a mile in diameter. The city was initially just a series of factories to process astelite, a precious rock harvested from the crater-turned-quarry. Pastel City has completely stripped this asteroid and its crater of all precious minerals, forcing thousands of its denizens out of work and desperate.

People moved into apartment complexes next to these factories in search of job opportunities, Pastel City continuing to expand. The Pastel City Monorail Station was built in 2093, 137 years ago. It brought citizens to and from over six neighbouring sectors, bringing in thousands of aspiring workers. In just ninety years after the city's founding (2132), Pastel City had a permanent population of one million, on an exponential increase. House prices were some of the lowest on the planet, and while quality of life was also fairly low, it was certainly nothing to scoff at.

The city's factory workers were entitled to free educational resources, allowing them to enrol in schools and universities across the planet for free. After the entire crater had its resources mined, processed, and shipped elsewhere, there was nothing for these factories and their workers. Thousands migrated to other sectors, the remaining inhabitants still struggling for work.
