Verti

"Hey, what's that?"
They both peered over the ship, staring into the icy waters below. Two glowing eyes floated along the surface, as the waves rolled over and crashed into the boat.
"I don't know, but it's making me uncomfortable. What if it's one of those creatures the tourist man warned us about? The one that eats people."
"It fucking better not be. I still have a book to finish writing back home, I don't have time to die."
The pair looked away for just a few seconds as they headed back to their room. They had twelve days on this tourist ship, and they didn't want to risk dying on their second day. As Verti moved back from the edge of the ship, it lurched to the side, crashing into an iceberg. His entire body was thrown into the air and over the side of the ship, where it plummeted into the ocean.
"VERTI! GRAB MY HAND!"
But it was too late, as a slithering tentacle reached up and hooked onto his leg. Verti was dragged down into the abyss, as a few bubbles escaped from his mouth.

Verti was a mysterious being from Greenerth. Verti's presence in the Yonderverse was not intentional; Verti is present in every single setting designed in the Writer's Dimension, due to a supposed glitch in the dimension's code that has, and never will be, fixed.

Personal History

Not much is known about Verti's history. His birth date and place of birth is completely unknown, and since he is a glitch it is assumed he doesn't have one. The earliest evidence of Verti's existence shows him at 20 years of age. Verti lived in a small cottage just north of Coalman's, in southern Aendatha. The cottage was painted a light blue, and everything inside related in some way to water and oceans, such as the many ornaments on the shelves.

Verti was a married man, with no evidence of the marriage even taking place. His wife, Idosa, is suspected to also be a glitch in the dimension's code, but nobody can be sure as she is not present in any other setting yet was not intentionally created by the Yonderverse's designer.

Verti's death occurred on Refer 5th, 2984, while on a tourist ship on Ocearia. Verti and Idosa both planned a holiday to this planet, but unfortunately it didn't end how they planned. The ship sailed into marvenken territory, a dangerous creature that preys on tourists. The ship was hit by a marvenken, causing Verti to topple over and to be dragged down to be eaten, not before drowning.

Unfortunately, the Yonderverse's Verti seems to be awfully dull. In other settings, alternate Verti's have been seen as an entire undead species, not-so-great warriors, and even Gods. In the Yonderverse, Verti is a humble man with a simple life, spending his days in his cottage writing fictional books.

The Yonderverse's Verti suffered a more extreme death compared to other settings. Not only he drown, his body was then eaten by a marvenken. Marvenkens have rotating circles of teeth, so it's lucky that Verti was already dead before being eaten.
