Sunshine City

Deep within the shimmering rainforests of Aphall is Sunshine City. A kaleidoscope of reds, oranges, yellows, and pinks, this city stands tall against the magnificent foliage. This city is known for its delightful architecture; a blend of Melasian and Afosian, two powerhouse cultures known for their breathtaking architectural designs.

Population

Size & Sprawl

Sunshine City stretches for sixty kilometres within the Melan Rainforest of planet Aphall. The largest city on the planet, the settlement has integrated itself within the rainforest, with trees sprouting from buildings and holding up entire complexes.

Inhabitants

Sunshine City is an exclusive city, lived in by only the most fabled of beings. Aphall as a planet cannot be accessed by the average person, and Sunshine City is a level above it. Only those with unfathomable reputations may step foot in the city, let alone live in it. Sunshine City is a diverse place, with citizens from planets far and wide. The most common sophont found in Sunshine City are aphallians, the planet’s only native people.

Layout & Geography

Nestled between thick foliage, the city is hard to navigate. It is protected on three sides by large mountains, with access to a large lake on the south side. The city is formed around a circular shaped road which loops around the entirety of Sunshine Lake. The city can only be accessed from this highway, which is carefully patrolled by Sunshine City Surveillance Officers which must check permissions from every person who tries to enter the city.

History

The people of Aphall have always believed in segregating society based on wealth. Unfortunately, they took it a step further when the plans for a new city were manufactured. Since this city fed into those beliefs and ideals it was immediately permitted, and space was made for the brand-new settlement to begin construction. Since Aphall is a planet rich of resources, the city was quickly built with help from hired Stargazer City workers.

The city was first drafted in 1560, exactly three hundred years before present day. The city’s first design was constructed in just three weeks, fit for three thousand inhabitants. This section of the city is known as Starlight Square and makes up a quarter of the entire city.

The city’s vacant buildings were promoted on Utopia, advertised as a “permanent break from society’s basic wanderers”, a thinly veiled attack on your every-day person. The buildings were among the most expensive on the market at the time, costing several billion charms to buy in its entirety, supplied with infinite food and water at no expense.

Sunshine City is funded by the rest of the planet and various outside corporations. The city advertises these corporations, encouraging its inhabitants to invest while the city receives money to stay functional and supply all these vast resources.
