Popal Pine

A popular tree species from Daenis, popal pines are native to southern Fresti. Growing up to a hundred metres tall and living for up to several thousand years, popal pines are considered the sturdiest tree species on the planet. Its deep purple wood is concealed by a lighter brown bark, its trunk reaching widths of over ten metres.

They are a well-adapted species to cold temperatures. A very well insulated tree, nesting animals often seek refuge within its thick branches and spiny leaves, or dig out small crevices in the trunk. Popal pines attract many mammal and bird species, warm-blooded organisms more comfortable in colder climates as they can control their own internal temperatures.

Popal pines are used in housing infrastructure around its native range. The national tree of Osari, popal pines grow in abundance in both the wilderness and around urban areas, where greenery integrates with architecture.
