Utility & Usage
Phantomancy encompasses a wide range of spells that involve the manipulation of spirits, phantoms and the supernatural. It does not include demons, as that falls under horrormancy.Spiritual Mist Manipulation
The most common phantomagical spells involve manipulating a purple mist. This mist is drawn from the Spirit Realm, and can be shaped and carved into weapons and items. It is often used offensively, as the mist can cut through almost any material, even as a gas.
Summoning Spirits
Spirits can be used for a number of things, but the most popular is haunting. Spirits are the remnants of the long-gone, and they can be brought to the Capital Dimension through complex spellcasting. Many people bring spirits through to taunt and haunt their enemies, as spirits become locked to their summoner and must obey their commands.
Users
Runos
Runos are possibly the most prominent phantomancers. These people have a better understanding of magic than technology, rarely seen in sophonts. Their phantomagical weapons are their most common choice, having created a range of bladed and handheld artillery weapons.
This field of magic is popular with runos due to how powerful it can be. The planet Maloruno is an incredibly dangerous place, and so only the most powerful weapons can be used to take down creatures such as rune deer and white tigers.
Social Reputation
Not many people know about phantomancy, but those that do fear it. When in the wrong hands this field of magic can be incredibly dangerous. There are some theories that the Scorpius & Vermini crash 3500 years ago was the result of some phantomagical spell, as the same purple mist was seen surrounding the crash site.

I love the concept. It's sort of like a sidestep away from necromancy. I want to know more about how the magic works. Are there abilities to commune with phantoms, can you make a ghost army, other than haunting, what kind of magics are there to get to spirits to do other things?
