Mantakar

Mantakar is one of the largest creatures on Greenerth, and is found deep underwater in Mantakar Lake in southern Nydiowa. It is a very famous creature for its rarity (one of a kind) and the danger it poses on the people of Greenerth. A small research facility was built at the bottom of the lake to study this magnificent creature.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Mantakar's head is a large boomerang shape, with a large spike extending out the back of its head. It has 2 very small eyes on each side of its head. Its head is attached to the body through a long thin neck. It has a very soft skin, but cannot easily be punctured. It roams the bottom of the lake on extremely long legs that end in 2 spike shaped toes that balance along the lakebed. It has a long tail ending in a barb, with poison on a level 4 on the Arrow Poison Scale .

Growth Rate & Stages

When mantakar was discovered, it measured about 40m long. It was estimated at that time that it was still a baby. Over the next 12 years, it grew at an alarming 20m a year, reaching 280m by the time it was an adult.

Ecology and Habitats

Mantakar lives in a large deep lake, about 400m deep. It thrives in the murky kelp waters, surrounded in a plant rich environment, with lantern reeds lighting up the dark water and various fish and creatures that it can play with.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Mantakar is a herbivore, it grazes on the fast growing kelp and grasses in its environment. It must eat a lot of food to maintain body weight and survive, so the research facility will release food everyday into the lake because there is not enough food in the lake to support the creature.
