Floramancy
Floramancers, flower mages, or green witches as they may also be known, have an innate connection to the natural world, specifically plants. It is the sister magic to zoomancy, a magic with a connection to animals.
Floramancy is held in high regard, many civilisations putting great emphasis on their connection to the natural world.
Seedling Realm
Every flavour of magic is tied to a realm, and floramancy is tethered to the Seedling Realm.
This realm is an overgrown paradise, with endless rainforests covering mountains, plains, and valleys, even dipping into coastal waters as dense mangrove jungles. Coral reefs cut into ocean cliffs, with kelp forests reaching up from abyssal regions.
Everywhere the land, sea, and sky stretches, is wildlife. The floating islands of the skies are bridged together with vines as thick as a person.
Conjuring a portal to the Seedling Realm is more difficult than it may seem. It requires great mental fortitude, and a pre-existing affluency with floramancy.
Flowers
The number of flowers woven into the portal frame correlates to how long the portal can survive. More flowers, the longer the portal lasts.Weave a circular frame with any durable plant - vines are the typical choice, though thick-stemmed flowers, and even malleable branches or bamboos can be used. Amateur green witches can use a metal frame and enough foliage wrapped around it. Powerful sorcerers can manipulate plants themselves to weave these portal frames.
The frame needs to be ignited with the green embers of hibilis plant; they grow in regions across the galaxies, however are difficult to find. Some, of course, cultivate it in greenhouses for a profit.
This portal is stable for a few hours, then it will need re-ignition. Thankfully, hibilis plants are plentiful in the Seedling Realm.
Major Regions & Landmarks
Flowerbed Forest
A forest spanning nearly two thousand miles in every direction. Trees in this forest bloom every day, closing at night.Pinkspot Mountain
A historical landmark for the falora, plant people native to the realm. Its peak is covered in pink blossom trees.Gala Falls

A cosmic bloom can be caused by a sudden influx of magic in the atmosphere. You'll notice when spores start clogging your ship's faciliies. Bloody annoying to clean.
Plants are incredibly versatile, both with and without magic. Floramancy is near limitless when used appropriately, and the connection built between man and plant is one of the most powerful forces in the known world.
This magic is most often used in the agricultural industry, enhancing crop growth, nutritional value, crop size, among many other factors. Floramancy is typically used on a gigantic scale in this industry, a single spell influencing millions of crops.
Self-Healing Ships
Some spaceships are built from plant material as strong as steel. It self replicates using stellar radiation.Root Communication
The root system of a plant can be hijacked to allow for instantaneous communication.Enhanced Fertilisation
Floramancy can help intensify fertilisers and increase crop growth.Ecological Memory Preservation
The last remaining flora of a dying planet have the world's memories stored in it, and a green witch can access those.Oxygen Masks
Magic can accelerate photosynthesis, producing oxygen at a rate sufficient enough to supply a person on its own.Users
Floramancy is one of the most practiced magics in the Yonderverse, especially considering the Seedling Realm has a population of nine hundred trillion.
Plant magic is not something sought out, it exists for everyone to experience. Even those who deny magic's existence will come across this magic in their lifetime, it is an inevitability.
Simply known as the GRC, the Global Reforestation Corporation is a company that restores dying planets to its former glory. They are commissioned by governments to rewild large areas.
Their largest project so far has been to restore the red heathlands of Mars, spanning more than five nations, two million square kilometres.
More than three hundred planetary nations have signed the Foliate Accords. This agreement forces the protection of all assigned wildernesses, under the protection of green witches. Planets like Daenis, Elepora, and Capepo have signed the Foliate Accords.
Capepo
The native capsains are avid farmers, utilising this magic for maximum efficiency and love of the craft.Artisa
The artisi are dependent on floramancy, and cannot survive without it. Like Capepo, they are one of the biggest exporters of fresh produce around the Milky Way.Pighumas
This planet in the Bloo System changes colour as it orbits the star. Its magical grass changes hue with varying levels of sunlight.I'm travelling to Razhea Capita in a few weeks for a surgery. Cosmetic. They're turning my head into a bowl, so I can grow plants out of it....You're joking, right?
This giant arcology orbiting Calana in the Cantyma System is built entirely out of plant material. A monumental feat in magibotany, this architectural wonder produces its own oxygen and repairs itself by absorbing stellar radiation.
Its inhabitants are training green witches, razheans learning how to spellcast in space.
Many dragon species are born with a connection to floramancy. These animals are great trackers, navigational experts.
Some have an intrinsic relationship with specific plant species, such as the whittlerunner and the whittleseed plant, a small wyvern and a flower that grows on its back.
Magical Items & Artifacts
The more plants one wears, the stronger your plant magic powers are. Green witches wrap vines around their arms and legs, and wear flowers as crowns and other accessories. Monster Hunters on Daglaci, when they come across a blue fairy blossom, will turn the flowers into earrings.
More durable plants are used in weaponry or armour. Bronzewood trees of Mars, ironleaf pines of Hell, and the platinum birch of Karkhala are the plant-based materials most commonly used in weaponry in the Milky Way.
Several battalions under Razhea Capita don ironleaf armour, wielding leafy bladed weapons and thorny arrows laced with poison. They often work in tandem with whitewings.
