Everglow

Everglows are one of the most beautiful flowers on Greenerth. During nights the long filaments and anthers will glow dimly, lighting up the rainforest with a beautiful shimmer.
These flowers are incredibly dangerous. Their sap contains one of the most deadly poisons in the world, a level 6 on the Arrow Poison Scale.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Everglows have a thick green stem, connected to the ground through several large roots reaching in different directions. The petals are arranged evenly around the centre of the flower, and there are 5 of them which are coloured in rows of pinks, purples, yellows and oranges. The petals grow outwards in a square shape, and the weight of it makes them fold downwards. The anthers have many large yellow bulbs on them.

Uses

Everglow petals can actually be used in food, and taste really nice too! They are mildly sweet and can be fried and used in many salads. The meals made with everglow petals are one of the most delicious things on Greenerth. A rare dish, called the Everglow Soup, is a delicious meal made of various vegetables with everglow petals sprinkled on top. Everglow poison has been harnessed and used by the Surbaria people in potions. The recipe is unfortunately secret, as they deemed everyone else on the planet unfit to handle such a powerful potion.

The everglow reaches level 6 on the Arrow Poison Scale, the highest level. Less than a milligram of its poison could kill up to 500 harmonids.

Illegality

Since 1450, farming everglows has been illegal across the world, due to its incredibly dangerous sap, it is easier if no one was allowed to farm it and get a lot of the poison.
In 1902, a man named Rio Mertin was arrested for possession of everglows. He had been farming them for 20 years, 14 farms located across the world. He was fine 20 million corral and was sent to prison to life.
