Cloud Ray

Cloud rays are large mammals soaring high in the skies, thousands of feet above sea level across the world. They are a very common animal, well known around the world. They are commonly used to teach child harmonids to fly, as their wings are similar to theirs and it teaches the children how to fly while their own wings are still growing.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Cloud rays have a range of wingspans, from 2 to 3 feet to 6 metres. The older the cloud ray is, the larger the wingspan. Its short, feather-like fur is a very light blue, verging on white. The two large dots on its wings are a dark blue. They have a manta ray like mouth, sucking in carbon dioxide which they eat.

Growth Rate & Stages

These animals have 5 babies every few months. They nest in on top of magic cypresses, creating a small burrow in the leaves. The babies will remain here until they barely fit inside the tree, then they burst out of the leaves and pretty much remain in the air until they mate and make a nest.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Cloud rays glide along the surface of the oceans and seas, opening their manta ray like mouths to scoop up plankton an zooplankton. They will also eat sea plants that have lost its grip and now float along the surface of the water, like moonvines and moonleaves.

Uses, Products & Exploitation

Cloud rays are incredibly tame, flying about the skies without a care. In some countries you can find cloud ray tours, where you get on a cloud ray, and fly the sky and tour the area. Strapping a saddle on the cloud ray's back is a common practice, teaching children how to fly in the skies while their wings are still growing and can't yet support the person.
