Blood Frog
Anatomy
Adult blood frogs seldom reach any more than 6 to 8 inches in length, and 2 to 4 inches in height. Their skin is a rough warty texture, and despite being called a frog resembles more of a toad. On the backs of blood frogs are large red warts which contain miniscule tadpoles of the species.
Blood frogs have two large fangs in their mouths which are used to pierce skin and inject the tadpoles into one's bloodstream, simultaneously injecting a numbing agent to conceal the bite.
Reproduction & Growth
Reproducing asexually, blood frogs are a solely female species. They fertilise their eggs in the warts on their backs, which hatch into tadpoles while still in the hollow warts. Then, when a blood frog injects the tadpoles into the bloodstream, they are free to consume as much blood as they need to grow.
By growing, the tadpoles cause blockages in one's bloodstreams, causing an endless amount of issues, leading to heart attacks, strokes, and death. It is impossible to cure this disease.
Reputation
Hailing from the Horror Dimension, these monsters are not designed to live in swamplands and have decreased biodiversity in Sarabar Swamp. These creatures have wiped out almost a third of the Aar-Aori population, and have caused some of them to migrate to the Silent Sloughs, another swampland just north of Sarabar Swamp.Related Articles
