In recognition of notable achievements by outstanding individuals within the Dragonguard community, I present the following awards.

— Nulcheck - Archon of the Dragonguard

The Legends of the Dragonguard world began as a dream (literally) and has since evolved into something much greater. Being part of the World Anvil community means a lot to me, especially knowing that so many people are interested in my silly, fantastical creation. Inspired by fellow Anvilites, I created this page to recognize your support and contributions, and acknowledge your role in keeping the community alive!
World Anvil typically awards "badges" for participating in community events, and other Anvilites present similar badges for their unofficial challenges. However, I have come up with my own version of recognition: military-style medal ribbons. After all, the Dragonguard is a military-like organization. These medal ribbons should not be confused with the in-world Dragonguard military awards; instead, they represent community achievements that you can earn! As this world and its community continues to grow, new medals will be presented here for you to collect over time. Unlike the postcard collectibles, most of these medals are not automatically awarded and are given at the discretion of Nulcheck himself.

Awards

Various medal ribbons recognize community achievements and personal accomplishments of members of the Legends of the Dragonguard community. Such awards are a means to outwardly display the highlights of the community. Styled after real-life military awards, all of the Dragonguard community "medals" are displayed as a medal ribbon mounted together on a backing plate, known as a ribbon rack.

Devices

Award devices are small decorations attached to ribbons to denote additional awards of the same decoration, typically in relation to higher "tiers" of an award for meeting specific or special requirements, such as following the world for a certain length of time. The devices usually appear bronze, silver, or gold in color and come in various types, but are typically shown as stars or a dragon claw.



Star - Additional Awards
Devices that indicate additional awards of the same type are only attached to the ribbon after the first award has been presented. A blank ribbon without any stars represents the first award, while a ribbon featuring one bronze star signifies a second award of the same type. Not all awards can be achieved ten times.

There is also a set of four stars for each color that is used for special purposes, but this is not typically found on all ribbons. Some ribbons even have special star devices that combine the set of three and four stars to make a staggered overlapping 7-star cluster.

Dragon Claw/Talon - Merit
Devices that signify exceptionally meritorious conduct, such as winning first or second place in a competition, are awarded the ribbon for that challenge, with a dragon claw or talon device (subject to change). The first-place winner is awarded a golden claw device, while the runner-up, or second place, receives a silver claw device. Honorable mentions and sometimes third-place positions are recognized with a bronze dragon claw device.

Below is a list of current community medals in circulation, in order of precedence. Medals that are not currently available and one-time awards (such as unofficial worldbuilding challenges) that can no longer be obtained are marked with an asterisk. New ribbon medals will be added over time.
