Tavaian Ocean (tɑːveɪˈɪn)
The Tavaian Ocean is the largest ocean on the planet. It stretches unbroken from the west coasts of Ravia and Ardenfell, all the way to the eastern coastlines of Drakemyst and Arkynshire. In the middle of the ocean lies an enormous open cavern known as the World Hole. Patrolling the waters around this unique geological feature is Taavi, the largest creature on the planet, which the ocean was named after. This ocean is the deepest and least explored of all oceans and seas. Not even Taavi can disclose what lies on the ocean floor, mainly because it is too dark to see clearly.
The most notable feature in this expansive ocean is a large cavern known as the World Hole. It formed a caldera when the massive volcano collapsed and the magma receded. The shoreline was high enough to prevent it from completely filling with water. A small village sits on a southern peninsula of the island, once a resupply point for the Dragonguard during the Draconian War.
Many shipwrecks have happened within this ocean, not because of harsh seas nor skerries, but because of the Ancient sea serpent, Taavi. She is also known as the Void Leviathan due to living in the deepest waters and her gigantic size. She has sunk countless pirate ships trying to reach the World Hole, in search of treasure that they believe to be in the World Hole cavern. However, no one has been able to confirm this, as no pirate has successfully reached the cavern. The Dragonguard had been the only ones Taavi allowed to land on the island, but they were preoccupied with a war to explore the cave. Afterward, the Dragonguard decommissioned their port, called Anchor Point, and left it, though a few personnel stayed behind as security. Today, the small village is still there and receives shipments of food and supplies from various countries that border the ocean.
