Kalashtar are humanoids whose souls are permanently bonded with benevolent spirits from the Plane of Dreams. This union grants them extraordinary mental resilience, heightened intuition, and an enduring awareness that their thoughts are never entirely their own. Though every kalashtar lives as an individual, each also carries the quiet wisdom of a spirit that has shared its journey since birth.
Outwardly, kalashtar appear much like humans, distinguished by calm expressions, graceful movements, and eyes that often seem unusually perceptive. Many possess an almost serene presence that puts others at ease, while subtle differences in voice, posture, or expression hint at the ancient consciousness intertwined with their own. They seldom display strong emotion openly, though their inner lives are every bit as rich as those of other peoples.

Architecture favors open spaces, flowing water, and natural light, creating environments intended to encourage reflection rather than grandeur.
Discipline of the mind is central to kalashtar culture. Meditation, contemplation, and philosophical study begin at an early age, teaching individuals to distinguish fleeting emotion from lasting conviction. They believe that understanding oneself is the first step toward understanding others, and that true strength begins with mastery of one's own thoughts.
The bond shared with their guiding spirits encourages kalashtar to value compassion, patience, and empathy. Many become healers, diplomats, scholars, monks, or adventurers dedicated to protecting others from tyranny, corruption, and supernatural threats.
