Riviker

Riviker is a large industrial city, located in the west of Hepsut, and situated on a small island in the middle of the Indara River. Riviker is the second largest city in Hepsut, and is known as the ‘City of Bridges,’, due to the two large, steel bridges that connect the city to the mainland.

Riviker is under the jurisdiction of the Coven of Maran, but largely acts independently, with the local government given almost total control over local policy. The people of Riviker also elect their own council of Ministers, who are supported by the Coven. The Coven advise the Council of Riviker on local matters, and usually only interfere when aid is requested, or when a Minister is found abusing their power.

Riviker is the manufacturing capital of Hepsut, both producing components, and assembling products for machinery, buildings and vehicles, with the city having a large focus on ship building. Rivikier is a major manufacturer of naval vessels, from trade ships, to warships and even the newly reinvented airships, which are sold across the world to both governments and private businesses. Ship manufacturing, as well as most of the industry in Riviker, is nationalised by the Coven and local goverment.

Riviker also has a state of the art power grid, harnessing both hydropower from the Indara River, and geothermal activity from beneath the island, to light it's streets and power it's factories. Electricity generation at this scale is a closely guarded secret by the local government.

Government

Riviker is governed by the Riviker Council, a group of four Ministers, who are each elected by the local citizens every three years, and are supported by the Coven of Maran.

Defence

Riviker is defended by a garrison of Enforcers, lead by an Overseer, the local police force of the Coven of Maran.

Commerce

Riviker is the largest manufacturer in Hepsut, producing high quality goods and wears that are trades across Exorsia, from weapons, armour, and chemicals, to machine parts and warships.

Riviker is positioned directly at the centre of the major trade route between the east and west of Hepsut, with all land trade between the two sides of the continent passing through Riviker, from resources traveling to the capital of Maran from the outer settlements, to trade between the Coven of Maran and the Triumvirate of Kahz Molduhr, filling it's markets with goods, with most of any goods or services being able to be found within the city walls. Much of Riviker's materials, such as ores, lumber, stone, and even food are imported, with it's metals coming from Navin in the west, or traded from the Triumvirate in the east.

Riviker also has a sizable fishing trade, cultivating the Indara River, as well as some farmland positioned on the outer banks of the river, producing crops and animal products.

Geography

Riviker is a large city that almost completely covers a small island located in the middle of the Indara River .

The city is an industrial metropolis, with tall tower and factories pumping smoke into the air. The streets are a network of residential neighbourhoods, warehouses and factories, all jumbled together and connected by narrow roads and pathways, with the major ones lit by electric lamps. A majority of the buildings here are made of stone or metal.

Riviker is connected to the mainland by a pair of large, steel bridges that cross the river, one in the west, connecting to Riviker Road, and one in the east, connecting to both the Arkand Trail and Indara Road.

Outside the city, on the outer edges of the Indara River, are a handful of farmland and farmstead, growing crops and raising livestock.
