Neldë-Aelin

Neldë-Aelin, sometimes called Lake Arkand, is a large freshwater lake located in the south of Hepsut, and situated within the Arkand Wilds. The lake's waters flow down eastwards from the Arkand Peaks, before exiting into the Ashfall Sea to the south of the lake. Arkand Island is located at the centre of the lake.

Control over Neldë-Aelin is contested by both the Coven of Maran and the Triumvirate of Kahz Molduhr, with it surrounded by the settlements of Franeshir, Isreim and Presran, which reside on the banks of the lake. The waters of Neldë-Aelin are a popular fishing location, providing a large supply of food to the local population. Unfortunately, due to the local reliance on fishing, as well as the large fishing hauls captured every week, local scholars worry that the lake may soon run out of fish, with fishing hauls already becoming smaller in recent years. While the governments of Franeshir and Presran have suggested that the local fishermen begin to travel out to the Ashfall Sea for their catches, very few fishermen have made heed of this suggestion.

The name "Neldë-Aelin" translates from Elvish to mean “the lake of three”.
