Packing Crate Cantina

The cargo gets unloaded fairly quickly and with no fuss. Afterwards, the leader comes up to thank us for getting the material here safely and mentions that the pirates have been operating a black market so people were still able to get their goods, but at three times the cost. I like a good profit, but that is just greedy. He also mentions that the base must be close as they are able to get the goods delivered fairly quickly. He says he will wire the funds later this afternoon and I give him Spook's details so she can watch for and verify receipt. I ask him to spread my name around in case anyone else is interested in hiring me for transporting cargo off planet. I also send a communication to Yarsk to confirm delivery and check to see if he has anything he wants shipped back.
 
Vanya walks up and asks if she can take the kids on an educational tour of the city. I check in with Zaye and she agrees that it would be a good idea for the kids to hand out with team Clergy for a while. They also agree to babysit the kids tonight while we go to the dinner with Thrawn since Vanya is not going. She agrees and I remind Spook of the kids bedtime so she can assist in case Vanya runs into any issues. I also ask Spook to check around to see if there is any chatter about the hidden base or anything related to pirate clans operating in the area. Yarsk reports back.... "Hm, thank you for contacting me Captain. Not sure there's any available, but could you carry back 20 tons of Dantooine lumber? Stuff is very dry weather durable, and I've a customer here on Chalcedon who'll pay top dollar. Careful... that might get you marked by pirates." I share that with Zaye. "What do you think? Are we asking for pirate trouble or could this be a way to stick it to the Black Hats? Not that I am vindictive. Speaking of which - do you have any history with any of the pirate clans?"
 
She says that it was more her father that had history. He worked with two different clans: Red Claw and Cloud Riders. Zaye says that she was in the room when various pirate clan leaders were talking with her father, but she doesn't remember if any of those were located in this area of space. Spook chimes in and reports are confirmed of Black Hats in space and Cloud Riders on the ground harassing local farmers. There is also a Red Claw clan around here and Ohnaka Transport has had some dealings confirmed and I tell her to NOT tell Vanya.. There is mention of a shadow port - Port Shill - with ties to the Black Sun. Also mentions of a private processing plant here on Dantooine. Only a rumor but the lab might be turning out a spice related seasoning - Sapho juice mixed with smashed bulbs making an enlightening experience for lots of sentient races. We talk about how our best option would be to mention this to the Sector Rangers - for a finders fee of course.
 
Then Zaye and I start to get ready for the dinner. We are girls after all, and we do want to look our best. Plus, making sure the weapons aren't visible goes better when you have someone else to check and confirm. I pull out my purple and silver dress which Zaye tells me looks very refined and it does have the hidden pocket for the knife. Zaye pulls our her black with the gray details so that we look like a couple - and it also has good places to hide knives. We set the clothes aside and then Zaye pulls up on her data pad the restaurants that are close to where we landed and there are four. We talk a walk about to determine the ambiance of each: Pillars of the Force Bistro, Eyela Star Cantina, The Packing Crate Cantina, and the Whispering Fountain. The Pillars of the Force is themed Jedi and Sith - taking advantage of the destroyed temple close by and is more scary than anything. The Packing Crate cantina has actual shipping crates in a variety of colors and designs with interconnected crates connected with doors and stairs. Decorations that are chic and fun and both Zaye and I immediately like it and plan to come back for a drink. Whispering Fountain is a sit down restaurant with a more upscale ambiance. In the middle of the restaurant is an actual fountain in an eternity gate configuration. Lots of greenery with blues and grays so calming. Star Cantina is the last possibility that Zaye found and it is a small domed building. It is more like the normal cantina with neon lights with an oblong bar dominating the space. It has lots of local souvenirs with lots of decor on the walls as a monument to lost and found. We found four sniper spots and two good alleys for up close and personal kills. Then we head back to the Packing Crate for a Corellian Sunset before we get dressed even though we both agree that the Whispering Fountain will be Thrawn's choice.
 
Vanya calls says all is good and Zaye and I slam the remainder of our drinks and make a dash for the door. On the way, we discuss tactics and decide she will run back to the ship and grab weapons while I go get a swoop. We divide and I find a local swoop shop with a dozen swoops outside obviously for rent and only six in view of the staff inside the shop. Looks like a standard rental business, but I don't have time for the paperwork. I promise myself that I will handle it when we get back. I walk casually by the window and then duck behind the swoop on the edge closest to the ship. I get it unlocked and am just about to activate when Hicks walks up and starts talking to me - out loud! I then share the pertinent facts with Hicks of kids and Jedi in danger. He finally understands and grabs his own swoop - with a very cool tool that I need as a lifeday gift. We get back to the ship and get Zaye and her backpack of weapons.
 
Hicks and I try to formulate a plan, but neither of us is sure where the temple is. I remind Hicks that he can talk while driving due to the helmet thing and he should contact either Davish or Vanya. He does and then after he gets the location of the temple we decide to do a strafing run on the pirates on the roof to make them either break for cover or come after us. Zaye then tells me to drop her off after we do the strafing run as she will be more useful on the ground. I sigh heavily and agree while reminding her to leave me with a couple of blasters and recharge packs. As we get closer, we can see an energy shield around the temple ruins. There are obvious pirates running and then the void widow takes one out. Hicks and I swoop in hot firing at the ground. They run for cover and we swoop around one of the columns and drop off Zaye and we swoop back in for another run when to the side I see bounty hunter equipped instead of pirate gear and they fire at us.
 
I swoop up and around to face him straight on and fire twice managing to hit him low on the side and leave a smoking hole. He falls against the door frame which keeps him upright. Hicks fires and the guy ducks within the door. I can only see the one guy, but I suddenly hear a humming noise and I yell at Hicks to break left while I break right and we swoop up and around. We see five drones decloak and fire at us in formation. We are able to stay in front of them because we are faster on the swoops. I offer Hicks two options: either I get them to follow me and he swoops behind to take them out or we both turn and put them in crossfire. Hicks picks the crossfire and we turn and target them and manage to take out three of the five. The remaining two cut and run, heading towards an upper floor window. I check in with Zaye and she says that she has the ground under control as there is only four of them. I take a deep breath and tell Hicks we are going to follow the drones. She promises to stay safe and I do my best to believe her.
 
Hicks and I manage to shoot the last two drones and see that Vanya has the issue inside that window under control and as we land Davish walks out with the first bounty hunter. We land and check for the kids. Apparently they are with the Mentats and that is considered the safest place. I have trouble believing that, but Davish and Vanya leads us to the library as we stop by the courtyard to see Danar and his date finishes a deal for some Jedi Quest item. Zaye finds us and while she looks tired she is safe. She quickly checks with me to know where the kids are and I share the information I have. She looks at Vanya for an explanation. We then follow Vanya to the library to find the kids.
