Vanya, Zaye, and I continue to talk with Cadbury to understand what his role was in the evenings events. KitKat walks into the room (with a cigarette lighter and a cocktail napkin from the restaurant) telling Vanya and K&Z that he needs help figuring out how to prevent Commissar Celestina from causing mass slaughter on her way to Coruscant when she hears that Lt. Jessup has been broken by Iceheart's thinking machines and is now fully loyal to Sargon because it will not be public knowledge that we visited the planet, and inoculated him against Iceheart's mind-control parasites and the FG-36 virus allowing him to act as a double agent. He shows the cocktail napkin to Cadbury twice and then burns the napkin with the lighter. He then mentions that we need to have some crimson chardonnay to prevent the poison from being activated and he has a bottle in the break room and we need to remember to drink some. Then he pulls out a holocron out of his pocket and gives to Vanya saying it was the property of Felseir Stempig. Vanya just shrugs and turns it on.
It powers up with a melodic shimmer, and then begins to pulse which is not normal from what I have seen before. Zaye leans over and says in a low voice to Aerena : "Well.. do or do not...they do not have 'try'". I respond with "unless it is a stupid idea!" "bad idea or not... there is no half-way?" Zaye adds and then Vanya chimes in with "If it's a stupid idea, maybe try it twice to be sure?" and I attempt to end the conversation with "and this is why I keep saying the whole force thing is hokey!". Then out of the holocron pops out a character that begins a conversation with Vanya.
I am nothing but lost in the conversation between this blue-skinned guy and Vanya, but I do not think he is always telling the whole truth and nothing but the truth. I lean over and whisper to Zaye "what the absolute is going on?" Zaye responds with "I so have no idea ... I think we're charting a whole new course here" Then Vanya asks for him to do a research project which I think might be a way to keep him busy and out of our way. I suggest to Zaye "Maybe she is trying to keep him busy and out of our way?" and she responds with "I mean... I think it's working?" The conversation continue to flow and the whole Jedi thing about attachment turns up in the conversation so I casually throws an arm around Zaye and snuggles her in closer while they discuss attachment being 'bad'. She snuggles back... whispering: "I have this odd urge for popcorn" and I just quietly laugh.
Vanya discusses with Kit Kat about why he chose to pick this one up. After some back and forth, Kit Kat asks to be left alone with Cadbury. I don't have a good feeling about this, but Vanya is like sure and heads towards the back half of the ship. Zaye and I exchange a few tense whispers and then we head towards the cockpit. We appear to leave, but we sneak back to the door and hide in the shadows just outside. Kit Kat does come over and close the door, but he leaves his comm open so we can easily hear what is being said. She wants to kill the Hutts - a total genocide. Zaye and I look at each other with a total crisis of conscious. Hutts are bad, but they actually do provide a service to the galaxy by curbing the quantity and type of evil in the galaxy. The question is also whether Zaye would be considered one to be killed as she is a 'daughter'. As Kit kat leaves the galley and heads back towards Vanya, Zaye and I go back into the galley to make sure Cadbury doesn't do anything stupid.
While we are watching we have a philosophical discussion about how bad it would be for the universe if the Hutts are suddenly removed. I have to agree with Zaye that the reality of that would not be worth the price of the peace, but it is very tempting. Then she talks about how she has been noticing the variety of 'talent' being thrown our way and she has a theory: Proxies. She thinks that the Void Widows, Raven Guard, and the Shadow Armed troopers are all being sent by one person. Our only way to really find out the who is to infiltrate a Void Widow cell. I take a few minutes to NOT say all of the things that I should not say to my wife after she makes this comment. Once I have calmed down, I ask her for the reasons she thinks this is a good idea. She talks about how the cells operate independently, but are still loosely connected. They operate by anonymity and since they are being activated and a lot of them in a short time span, it is probably both Ice Heart and her dad. The ones who have activated them will think they can't be traced or found out, but each cell shares information with a central database . If we start with Yosha's cell to determine how they are sending information to the central location then we can find the location. Also, if we all go to the training center, then each group could do what they feel is necessary, but we can look for the central location and find out more about Noki Sunfell and why she is so important to the universe.
Suddenly we hear Almon asking for everyone to come to the docking bay for 'acting". We look at each other and then at Cadbury. We can't leave him alone and are about to do rock, paper, scissors to see who has to stay behind when Kit Kat and Omicron enter the room to se3e how to help Cadbury sleep without dreaming. Omicron requests a heavy stun as the best way to do that and I happily volunteer. Once Cadbury is out, Omicron says he will start working on helping Cadbury to be/feel better. Zaye and I shrug and head to the docking bay for the entertainment. The team discuss the relative merits of the plan, the script, and the idea. Just as they are about to get a solid script put together, our comms go off. Kit Kat answers and it is Hicks telling us that BoSS is on the way.
Vanya makes a few snap orders and Kit Kat and I are assigned to confirm that the kids are safe. Kit Kat and I begin to make plans to physically visit the other ship. His plan involves air vent hoses, maintenance droids, and cooling fans. I open a secure channel and contact Spook. Apparently there was a fire in the galley while the kids were making grilled cheese. No one got hurt, and the kids now know how to override the fire suppression for greater output. So it WAS educational! I assign the kids a three page report as punishment and then tell Spook that notifying Zaye of the fire is her job. I then go up to the cockpit and do a quick scan of the StarRise Falcon and then the bays surrounding our ships. Nothing dangerous in the area except I am picking up a landspeeder approaching with BoSS encrypted signature. One is armored in a class of power armor you've never seen before or heard of. Rating is off the chart. BoSS just wants us to be aware of a Mentat vagrants and to let them know in case we stumble across them.
We call in the maintenance team to recharge the fire suppression system and check for a mynock infestation. I go out as soon as the team arrives and talk - A LOT - to distract and keep the focus away from the what Kit Kat is doing to get the spy off the ship. As I lead the way to where the outside hook up is for the fire suppression system, I put a solid swing to my hips and make sure to get all eyes on my. They get the system fixed and then start looking for mynocks. While they are doing that, I go aboard the ship to check on the kids and find out the what/why/how of the fire. I get their reports and then assign one to Spook - how can a droid not know to time how long something is cooking? I put them to bed and go back to the others and give Zaye a head's up about the fire.
She is relaxed about it and then, since we are all together with the spy gone and the mentats knocked out, Zaye shares her theory about the proxies and what our next step should be. Yosha agrees with Zaye and tells us that her handler was a Black Sun member. Her cell is located on Jaemus with a shipyard located there. It is also on a shipping lane so it would make it easy for the Void Widows to deploy and I remember a rumor about there being a black ops lab there that was taken out by Crix Madine shortly after the war. We vote and decide to go this Jaemus and send Selistima to check Spacer's Tears for a Void Widow cell.
