Thrawn then says, "We have been poisoned." Conversation flows quickly around the table and it is determined that it is a combination poison with three parts and only two parts have been delivered to us. A waiter walks in with a wine list and the whisper goes around the room that the third part of the poison is on the menu. Kit Kat requests a specific wine that might be part of the entire cure, but I request the wine steward to begin reading off the entire menu in order to allow time for others to devise a plan. While he is reading, I catch a glimpse out the window of the roof across the street of a brief glint of light off metal. I immediately decide that this group needs to leave the room and I suggest we go downstairs for dessert. Others start talking about the music and other reasons to go down, but they are not moving.
Then I see them. There are four charges on the window that would make the window break, fall out, or not be a barrier any longer. Zaye and I take two each - she has the right side, I the left. Zaye and I both hit our first charge and then I miss the second one. One of the four troopers turns his head and punches a button on his gauntlet and the charges go off. The three on the floor go off and ruin the carpet. The one I missed does blow, but is not enough to take out the window. The enemies land on the window with the jet packs and one jabs a vibro knife into the window and begins to carve a hole. I yank out my vibro knife and stick it into the the window at the Ravensguard's face to make him back off. He jerks back, but quickly slams his knife against my blade to immobilize it. If I try to move it too much, I will take out one of the window supports.
Instead, I grab the E11 blaster from the trooper so I can fire at the guy. Then I hear Kit Kat behind me blurt out, "We should do what Captain Kolene says because they are blowing the building!" I fire a blast into the crack of the window and see the enemy jerk back and toss his knife into the wild blue yonder. He dives back towards the window and I take my vibro blade and jab the hand of the other guy who jerks back and drops his knife. That means all four of the people are now holding on to the window and not fall to the ground. With that under some control, I turn to Kit Kat and ask if they are planning to blow the entire building or just our room. Seems to be the entire building. I have a wild urge to toss the troopers down and ride them out the window like a sled. Too much going on to actually do that and no reason to.
We drop down the hole that Yosha has created and run outside to see if there is an obvious watcher. Other than the four Ravensguard and the smoke from whatever Almon did, there is one other interesting person. Across the street is a Corellian lounge lizard in an electric blue jacket and paisley shirt, but one so average that he is immediately suspicious. We decide to stroll out of his viewpoint and then circle around to ambush him. We head left and find a side street that we can use to come up behind him. We can see him still suspiciously lounging and quickly hatch a plan to melt out of the shadows into his personal space and I begin distracting him while Zaye steps up to put a knife blade to his kidney and his jugular. He does some kind of movement that allows him to dodge both blades. I engage him in more conversation and when he tries to take a step back, Zaye trips him. Well, she tried to but he did some disco more or other and manages to be back upright. I ask him another question and then follow up with what is the square root of 46789642 and before he can stop himself - he answers and then winces as he realizes that he gave himself away as a mentat.
We begin sharing insults as I threaten and he deflects and then he mentions that he requires a peer review. I agree and call Almon out to join us. He does with two implements, a ladle and pair of tongs. Apparently he knows who this person is and it is another mentat from the Candy Bar fraternity: Cadbury. Turns out he was a traitor and sold out to the highest bidder years before Almon did. Almon calls Kit Kat and then while Cadbury is apparently involved Almon walks over to us and we devise a plan to capture Cadbury. Zaye and I begin to fight Cadbury who dodges, but Almon smacks him with the ladle and then uses the tongs to distract him and Zaye and I grab him just as smoke grenades hit the ground around us. Almon watches and counts and then tells us to run in a certain direction as Almon tells us that we are being attacked by Broccolini from the Vegata Squad.
We all agree to take the prisoners back to the Night Sparrow so we can debrief. Kit Kat shares that Broccolini was working for Iceheart for money. We take Cadbury into the galley, tie him to a chair, and start discussing. He keeps trying to act as if he is big brains and it just doesn't work. He eventually tells us about an Iceheart mechanism that is put into the body, centered in the brain stem, which he controls by keeping it drunk. This is probably what Iceheart was kicked off of Mentas for creating. Then Vanya steps back and lets us get to question. Why Thrawn? He has certain ideas she doesn't like. He refuses to kill the royal so now he must die. Nothing this guy says makes sense or shows him to be smart enough to run a basic op. I get tired of talking to him and turn him over to Zaye. She asks about when her father infected him with a virus. Cadbury has nine hours before he needs to take the antidote and the reason he has for wanting Iceheart dead is so he can take the Galactic space over and turn it into Hutt space. We are going to have to kill dear old dad and take over the kajidic.
