WorldEmber Recap
My Own Progress
For WorldEmber, I hardly did even half of the things I had wanted to do, sadly. Nevertheless, I at least didn't fail. I managed over 10,000 words. Somehow. Funny story about WorldEmber was that I started on the last day of November, trying to rush as much as I could to get the last little words out for Game of Tomes and November writing challenges and such. I ended up with just over 3,500. After that, it seemed I completely logged out of WorldAnvil for the whole of December. So much stuff happened and it was hectic for me. I also fell ill and all kinds of stuff.
Next thing I knew, it was January, and WorldEmber was coming to a close. I quickly did a stream and tried to rush through. I finally somehow accomplished the goal, but this is most hilarious because WorldEmber is supposed to be a challenge hosted during the month of December. However, I didn't really do much for it in the actual month. To be fair, I did use some of the scripts I had written in December to help push me towards my wordcount, but you know what I mean. Anyways, this is what I did for WorldEmber. I wasn't even able to enter all the special categories, which was super disappointing. Oh well. Just trying to keep praying and keep going...
Polished (kinda)
Barebones (disappointing)
Ooops! (didn't realize these were being submitted)
Judging Your Articles
My job this WorldEmber was to judge the Title category. Though I wasn't feeling extremely well, I pushed myself to at least browse through all entered articles in my category. Here are the lot that caught my eye...
Winner of Title Category
The winner, as announced at the official Awards Ceremony on WorldAnvil's Twitch channel was Solomonjack with Baron of Areeott
Interesting article! Made me curious about your characters and world. The CSS and formatting was also pretty nice.
Thanks for sharing and participating in WorldEmber 2025. God bless and much love! <3
New Year's Resolutions Reading Challenge
Your Articles
I took a moment to read a few articles and try to get some inspiration for my New Year's plans...
by DesdemonaRose
This is one of the first WorldEmber 2025 articles I read. I was lying down and feeling a bit sick, but I happened to notice this intriguing article. I read it from beginning to end. Jehan was quite the interesting character. The way everything was laid out in fine detail was really nice. It also made me very curious about the story, characters, and world. It told me enough information but still left some things to be discovered later. I also liked the use of the spoiler boxes.
by Love Girl
This was another interesting article. I had the honor of featuring it on livestream when WorldAnvil raided me on Twitch, and Love Girl requested I give it a read. The way this dish was described left me very curious and wanting to taste it for myself. I also wondered what size these peoples are, and how they were able to live up in the clouds.
by The Big G
This Military Formation article was intriguing to read. I had just seen about how fish work in this world due to a RolePlay game currently happening in my Infinite Imaginations Discord server, so when I went over to peruse more articles on WorldAnvil, this one definitely caught my eye. It was interesting to see how the article not only described the formation, but told a detailed account of historic events that provided a lot of insight to the world's backstory. As always, I appreciate the tooltip usage that The Big G implements.
by ThePinkGM
This was an interesting little plot. I liked the charming style, and witty humor. The Pink GM also did a great job with the epic use of CSS and overall design. The whole thing had a nostalgic feel, like one of those older point-and-click CDrom games.
I have been meaning to overhaul my CSS for such a long time, but I really want to do it. I know it will be challenging and tedious, but I believe it will be worth it in the end.
by HippieDrillSgt
This was a short but sweet article. The use of the Prose template for this shanty-like poem or song lyric was great. I love how simple it is, stretching the boundaries of article templates.
My Inspired Articles
I decided to make a series of stubs for my inspired articles...
Inspired by DesdemonaRose, I wish to create a Character article that is detailed and includes much history of life as well as some spoilers that will be hidden. Rodney is a mysterious character who has spent many years at WILLOWISP, going from an agent to a janitor. He has a lot of secrets, but he also does a lot of trolling, so he's not the most reliable narrator.
Inspired by The Big G, I wish to create a Military Formation article that tells a cohesive story. Bruce Machete is part of this group, and I've been wanting to write about it for quite some time.
Inspired by Love Girl, I wish to create an Item article about a food that tells a story and makes the reader want to taste.
Inspired by ThePinkGM, I wish to create a Plot article that is somewhat simple to follow but is well done and visually pleasing. EnigMarch is coming up, and I believe that will be the perfect time for me to implement this...
