Crazy Mountains
The Crazy Mountains is a mountain range in Central Atlantea, the Crazies is named for all of the crazy things that go on here. For years, strange phenomenon of all sorts have been reported here, from strange creatures that seem to disappear as though they were never there, to compasses going awry, people feeling sudden bouts of dizziness and headaches and migraines, people getting lost and going missing, and the list goes on. Religious sorts say that there is something very wrong with these mountains. In the peaks of the mountains sits a church as well, that was long abandoned many years ago, it sits there today, old and deprecated, looming in the dark of the mountains like a solemn reminder of a long forgotten age. Even the Temple of the Gods has no idea why exactly the church was abandoned, but if you were to ask them now, they would say that the answer is obvious, that there is something very wrong with the land. Something has corrupted it. They believe that the mountains have been cursed by the Undergrave itself.
Even still, religious sorts of people constantly make treks up to this church, they call the pilgrimages, and pay their respects, ignoring the warnings from the priests who say to never go there. Those who do, they report feeling nausious, dizzy, like the world was suddenly turned upside down. They say that something is indeed very wrong with this land.
However, some of the people who have made pilgrimages up to that church were never seen or heard from again. They have vanished from the face of Terr'ahna, the only thing left of them being the solemn memory of who they were and loved ones left to wonder where they could have gone and what could have happened to them.
Geography
The Crazy Mountains stretch from the southern tip of the Cascade Mountains, all the way to the Kavan Desert in the south. The abandoned church sits somewhere in the northern peaks of the mountain range.
Localized Phenomena
Often it is reported that the weather patterns in the Crazy Mountains tend to be a little unusual. Sometimes people report blizzards in the middle of the summer months, or other strange weather. Other people report random feelings of dizziness, or offbalance. Some people get random headaches or migraines. As well, compasses almost never seem to work right here, with the needle spinning around like crazy, hence the name for the mountains. Sometimes, people have reported instances where they are suddenly taller than their friend, when in reality they are shorter than their friend. It is said that all of this is caused by a vortex in the middle of the canyon in the centre of the Crazy Mountains, known as the World Tear.
Climate
The climate here can often be unpredictable. While the mountains are in the desert climate of Atlantea, there have been random instances of blizzards occuring in the middle of the summer months, or other strange weather. Some people have reported storms seeming to come from out of nowhere.
Fauna & Flora
For the most part there are trees, shrubbery, bushes, and cacti all through out the mountains. The mountains are also home to Mystimon like Dragron and its Evos, and several others.
History
There is a church sitting in the northern peaks of the mountains. Today this church is long abandoned. Why it was abandoned is something of the mystery. The Temple of the Gods certainly aren't saying, or they don't know either. It is also said that there was a battle of some sort that took place here many generations ago, but these are considered by most scholars to be only stories. To date, there has been no evidence of such a battle ever occurring here.
Tourism
Many people like to climb and hike these mountains, as well as make pilgrimates up to the abandoned church in the northern peaks. But some of these people who do never return. . .
