Dinga States
The Dinga States are a refugee nation, formed from the remnants of the kingdom of Tokmor, refugee settlers in Emberin Halls, local wood elves, and locals of the eastern Empire of Eal who either had reason to flee the mageocracy or had run out of reasons to fight for it. They reside primarily in the Dinga Hills. The States were in the process of forming with the town of Theaton as their capital when the Battle of Twelve Acorns broke out and Theaton was overrun by Conclave forces.
While the people of Theaton fled to find a new home, Salsten Riley remained to lead the Desert Roses and rally what was left of the old Empire's legions at Fort Dekner. Tired of the constant demands of the Empire to fight and bleed for nobles who weren't prepared to do the same, Riley defected and proclaimed allegience to the newly formed Dinga States. However, the States are comprised of communities who have little in common with each other except shared territory and a reliance on each other for security. They survived the Imperium War, but peace has a way of making people complacent and divided.
The Dinga States rely on a steady trade of foodstuffs from the Verdant Kingdoms to their west.
