Parvis Mage Academy
The Parvis Mage Academy is based in Azurena but holds some classes in Arcanum Tower. Tunnels run through the mountainside, spreading into a maze beneath this center of magical learning. Beginners are brought regularly to the tower because the mithil mountain makes magic easier to cast. Then for most of their training, they are in the Mage Academy building in Azurena. They spend an indeterminate number of years there until they reach a certain power threshold. When they gain the ability to cast 3rd tier magic they are sent to Arcanum Tower to apprentice for 1 year under a mage. After this year of apprenticeship, they are considered full Mages and given a certificate.
Like all Parvis academies, they are very selective with their students. To become a student you must be born into or sponsored by a noble house. This practice is fairly common and is honored by adding the noble house's name ahead of your own surname, for example, William Arcanden-Stone is William Stone sponsored by House Arcanden.

After Graduation
After graduating the Mage Academy the students take their places as a utility wizard assisting noble courts; a battlemage assisting the knights, navy, and occasionally assassins; or a researcher who usually stays at the tower to develop new spells or conduct magical expirements. During this time the battlemages wear black armor, the utility wizards wear purple robes, and the researchers don't have a uniform and aren't often seen outside the tower. After years in their chosen field and when they have grown in power the mages can be elevated to the level of Archmagi. At any given time the 7 most powerful mages in Parvis wear robes of mithril thread. There are only ever seven of these mithril robed wizards. When one dies the other six come together to choose his replacement amongst the most powerful wizards on Parvis. To even be considered for one of these coveted positions you must be able to cast 8th or higher tiered magic. Recruits come from both Battlemages, Utility Wizards, and researchers. When a new Archmage is chosen they earn themselves a title based off their magical exploits, generally the thing that impresses the other six the most. The current Archmagi are the following: Scion Nathaniel “The Prodigy” Acanden. Lord Sorren “The Sun Weaver” Arkenhiem. Lord Giddeon “The Chainmaster” Seguren. Maddox “The Spellstacker” Bledsin-Atropa. He has a special technique known as spell stacking that allows him to set off two spells effectively simultaneously.Structure
The Mage Academy doesn't sort its students based on age or number of years of education. Instead, it only sorts by power level ranking its students from 3rd to 1st tier, based on the highest tier of magic they can cast. Student don't stay 3rd tier for long though and move on to become aprrentices for a year at Arcanum Tower.
Assets
Upon graduation mages are presented with Arcandem Armor, +1 mithril platemail that doesn't inhibit casting and can be used as a focus. It also ignores the strength requirement of platemail and the disadvantage on stealth.
