Headmaster's Office
Almahna Academy - Top Floor
As you make your way up to the top floor of the pyramid, you come across a pair of marble doors, unlike the rest in the entire building. The path continues to the left of the doors, up to the Observatory. But you decide to approach the doors, sweat running down your forehead. You push open the doors to reveal a medium-sized room with a desk to one side. The walls are all covered in the same white light boxes as downstairs. Across the hardwood floors stretches a long violet rug all the way to a pair of oak doors on the other side of the room. This is the Headmaster's Office. Working at the desk is a kindly blond-haired Fey woman, who appears to be a secretary. She looks up to you for just a moment and smiles at you, and then returns to what she was doing. You are especially nervous because you have heard that the Headmistress of the school is sarcastic and has a bit of a flippant attitude. Suddenly, a small red bird bursts out of the room ahead of you, with a woman chasing after it.
Purpose / Function
This is an administration office and home to the Headmaster's Office. This is where the Headmaster of the school works to oversee the operations of the school.
Design
The room is around 9 meters wide and 15 meters long, with the ceiling being around 6 meters high, paved with hardwood floors. The walls are constructed of soft, bluish-white stone. Along the walls on both sides are soft white light boxes, similar to the west and east wing halls downstairs.
Inside the Headmaster's Office, through the double oak doors, the room stands around 7.6 meters long and 10.6 meters wide, with the ceiling standing around the same height as the room outside. The floors are paved with the same hardwood floors, covered by a violet coloured rug, oval-shaped.
Entries
There are a pair of heavy marble doors in the reception room leading out onto the top-floor landing and the Central Stairs, and a pair of oak doors leading into the Headmaster's Office
Sensory & Appearance
The temperature is kept at a stable cool temperature in here and throughout the pyramid. The light boxes along the walls cast the room in a soft yellowish-white light.
Denizens
A Fey secretary is sitting at the desk in the reception room who lets people in to see the Headmistress whenever she is available, or when they have appointments with her. Sometimes, students who are being especially difficult or rule-breaking will be sent here to see the Headmistress. The Headmistress also has a pet Mystimon, a red bird known as a Pivar, whom she calls Ember.
Contents & Furnishings
In the reception room, across the hardwood floor is spread a long violet coloured rug, from the doors coming in to the doors leading into the headmaster's office proper. There is an oak desk on the right-hand side as one enters the room. On the left-hand side of the room sit several soft plush chairs.
In the headmaster's office, in the centre of the room, stands a heavy oak desk, and there are four bookcases along the walls to either side of the room.
