Dragonborn
Dragonborn, sometimes called Draconians or Half-Dragons, are a species of humanoid Dragons capable of exhaling an elemental breath weapon. In the current age Dragonborn have a very low population as the species almost went extinct during the Age of Arcanum.
Dragonborn seem to be descended from Dragons, with their origin being able to be traced back to before the Dragon-Elf War in the Silver Age. It is widely believed that the first Dragonborn were the offspring of Dragons that used their shapeshifting ability to allow them to mate with Elves, with Dragonborn being the descendants of those offspring.
Elemental Affinity
Like their Draconic ancestors, Dragonborn have an affinity for an element which is reflected in their breath weapon.
A Dragonborn's scale colour and elemental affinity always match, but what colour & element a Dragonborn gets seems to be completely random. While a Dragonborn is more likely to share a colour & element with one of their parents, there is also a chance that they will have a completely different colour & element.

The Fall of Vracaris
Before the Age of Arcanum there existed the Dragonborn empire of Vracaris which was home to a large portion of the Dragonborn population. The empires origin is largely attributed to the fact that due to the unique Ancestry of Dragonborn it was beneficial for reproduction for them all to live together in the same location.
In 523 BF Vracaris was mysteriously destroyed and with the majority of the Dragonborn population. The combination of The Fall of Vracaris , and The Fall of Arcanum that came after it, has led to the Dragonborn population remaining low to this day, with the Dragonborn species spread across the world.
The ruins of Vracaris can be found on the island of Scorchland in Terrasmus. The little archaeological information that could be gathered from the ruins suggest that the Dragonborn lived in a matriarchal society and worshiped a Draconic Pantheon of Aretos and Kakia before the Fall.
Appearance
Dragonborn are bipedal humanoid Dragons with reptilian-like scales, Dragon-like heads and tails. Dragonborn usually don't have wings, but some do.
Male and female Dragonborn look almost identical, though female Dragonborn tend to be larger and stronger than the males.
Scales: Dragonborn scales come in a wide range of colours, similar to the colours found in dragons. Examples include hues of black, blue, gold, green, red, silver and white.
Maturity
Dragonborn mature quickly, they attain the size and development of a 10-year-old Human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15.
Reproduction
Dragonborn hatch from eggs. Female Dragonborn can produce a single egg approximately every 10 years. This egg must be kept warm for 12 to 18 months before it hatches. If the egg is not kept in the appropriate climate it will hibernate indefinitely until the right conditions are met.
Dragonborn are usually only able to produce offspring with other Dragonborn, but in rare circumstances they are cable of reproducing with Humans. Unfortunately the conception rate in these relationships is exceptionally low and can often result in birth and developmental complications. The offspring that survive tend to resemble the species they were birthed from, with offspring birthed from a Dragonborn, resembling a Dragonborn, and an offspring birthed from a Human resembling a Human with Dragonborn-like characteristics, like scales, claws or a tail.
