Dragonborn - Gem
Gem Dragonborn are a rare sub-species of Dragonborn with crystalline, gem-like bodies and innate Psionic powers. They are believed to be descended from Psionic Dragons, a rare, almost mythical species of Dragon that are said to inhabit the far reaches of The Astral Sea and the Divine Planes.
Gem Dragonborn are said to have many differing Psionic abilities, from telepathy, to the manifestation of psychic wings that allowed them to fly. It is also said that Gem Dragonborn do not need to eat, drink or even breathe, allowing them to survive within the depth of the Astral Sea. Another discovered rumour is that the gem-like bodies of the Dragonborn were incredible conduits for Magic, allowing them to power magical devices and arcane constructs.
Gem Dragonborn are not native to Exorsia and are an exceptionally rare sight. They are believed to live within The Astral Sea, but not much is known about them beyond speculation. Because of their rarity and gem-like appearance, some people believe that Gem Dragonborn bring good luck, thus putting them at risk from wealthy collectors.
The one Gem Dragonborn that has been recorded living on Exorsia since The Fall of Arcanum is Kalédragis Luxor Madani, a Crystal Dragonborn from the city of Maran, and the proprietor of "Crystal Dragon Inc.", a massive distributor of revolutionary magical wears across Exorsia. Unfortunately Kalédragis has no connections to any other Gem Dragonborn as their assistant was not able to provide any more information on the species.
Cosmic Affinity
Like other Dragonborn and their Draconic ancestors, Gem Dragonborn have an affinity for a Psionic power which is reflected in their breath weapon. A Gem Dragonborn's crystal, gem-like bodies and Psionic powers always match, recorded gem colour and Psionic power combinations include:

Appearance
Gem Dragonborn are describes as bipedal humanoid Dragons with crystalline, gem-like instead of scales, and Dragon-like heads and tails. Gem Dragonborn are not usually describes with wings, but some claim that they do. It is also said that Male and female Gem Dragonborn look almost identical, and some Gen Dragonborn are said to have floating pieces of crystal that surround them and are part of their bodies, such as floating head crests or tail spines.
Gem Bodies: Gem Dragonborn have bodies that resemble a select number of crystals, similar to the gem colours found in Cosmic Dragons. These include yellow topaz, green emerald, purple amethyst, white crystal and blue sapphire.
Maturity
Gem Dragonborn supposable mature similar to other Dragonborn. They mature quickly, attaining the size and development of a 10-year-old Human child by the age of 3, and reach adulthood by 15.
The life expectancy of a Gem Dragonborn is unknown, though some records suggest that they can live from over a millennia.
Reproduction
Dragonborn hatch from eggs, so it is assumed that Gem Dragonborn do the same.
Some records suggest that Gem Dragonborn are able to produce an egg asexually without the need for a mate. They are rumoured to produce a single egg approximately every 25 years.
It is assumed, like other Dragonborn eggs, Gem Dragonborn eggs must be kept warm for 12 to 18 months before it hatches. If the egg is not kept in the appropriate climate it will hibernate indefinitely until the right conditions are met.
