Atiris Stream
The Atiris Stream is a large river that spans from the south of the western part of the Ridgemar Wilds and then heads up to the northwest, past a volcano known as Mount Virder. Deep within its waters is a type of freshwater algae known as riverweed that is harvested for types of leather armor, some even enchanted with magick.
Geography
The river ebbs and flows through the forest, snaking around an inactive volcano, just on the outskirts of the forest. It runs over 200 feet deep and 125 feet wide.

Fauna & Flora
The river is known for its local fishing spots, where fishermen gather to catch the usual salmon, carp, and bass, but the elusive starry trout and ghost pike are a rare commodity. During spring and summer, bears and deer are an common sight as well, leading to huntsmen in the area trying to catch dinner.
Rarely seen riverweed sharks take up hunting through the riverweed as starry trout are the main source of food, as well as the occasional humanoid that thinks the merfolk fruit is a profitable harvest. Most tourists believe the riverweed sharks to be a myth conjured up by the locals to deter them from "stealing" merfolk fruit.
The most commonly found flora is riverweed with the merfolk fruit growing on it, yet there is also patches of rainbow coral that grow near the shoreline but remains hard to get to due to the bears that nest in the area during the warm seasons.

Another important resource is an ore called copper. It is not produced in large quantities, but the ore deposits that exist are mined for use in refining metal for wires that help conduct electricity into La Fealia, the first city with light bulbs.
