Profile: Anne-Line Decroix

Author: Heather LathamDate: 30 days post-Mist — Confidentiality: Public
Importance: Vital for Humanity's survival.
Title: Consul of the Triumvirate.

Pre-Mist background

Date of birth: 1989 — Gender: Woman — Origin: North of France

Diploma:
  • French Engineering Diploma in Chemistry from the Engineering School Chimie ParisTech in Paris in France (top French institution).
  • PhD in Material Chemistry from the University of Cambridge in England (top international institution).

  • Previous profession: Researcher at the University of Leuven in Belgium (top international institution).

    Character:
  • Overall character: Always very calm and self assured, but stubbornly defiant when provoked.
  • Leadership-style: Take charge, plan careful and extremely cautious, but at the same time very ambitious and always aim for the best from herself and her team.
  • Job-related: Meticulous, curious and like puzzles.

  • Hobbies: Reading, drawing, running.

    Mist

Mist exposure level: Extremely high (highest of all known survivors). Shortly after the initial Mist invasion, she was exposed to extremely high level Mist monsters and they stabbed her in the heart. Nevertheless, she has never shown any signs of Mist Contamination.

Mist injury: The hole in her heart is still not healed given the high level of the Mist monster that caused it, but her control of the Mist allows her to keep her heart beating and her blood inside of her body - apart from when she has to use high level of Mist.

Related survivors: She is the individuals with the most related survivors, including both family and friends: her brother, Augustin Decroix, their parents, Aristide Decroix and Aline Vasseur-Decroix, the rest of their family, the Decroix-Vasseur-Gaultier family, and two of her friends and ex-colleagues, Colleague 1 and Colleague 2.
This reinforces the hypothesis that what influences survival the most is not some particular genes but rather emotional links to particular individuals who, for unknown reasons, have managed to survive high Mist-exposure level.

    Post-Mist

Mist abilities: Defence, which manifests as an incredibly high sensitivity to Mist that allows her to sense all Mist contamination (in individuals, objects, or the environment) and with the creation of powerful shields.

    Jobs:
  • One of the 3 Consuls of the Triumvirate — Takes all important decisions regarding the governance of the Lillois survivors and the planning for the future until peace can be re-establish and a new constitution can be written.
  • Minister of Research — Leads the investigation into the Mist, Mist monsters and Mist abilities, and leads the development of new technologies that can work despite the Mist.
  • Head of Defence — Assists the Minister of Defence in making tactical decisions in the fight against the Mist and with the detection of Mist contaminations. Her decisions prevail over his. In battle, she can also lead the Engineer Battalion.

Thanks <3 This was a fun world to wrote about, as it's an old idea that I have attempted to write several times but plan to start again from scratch soon. This gave me lots of details but enough flexibility to make adaptation as I felt like.

A character sheet as a resume is a design that so suits your world. <3

Thank you <3 I always have troubles to find a way to present my characters and the info I want to share and to make it relevant and fit the world. I think the resumés/CVs adapted to each world is what works best, even if then I have the limitations of keeping the info and tone "official".   I found a good balance in this world by having another article introducing more subjectivity by having a private article written by Heather in which she tries to make her mind about Anne's family by listing all she knows about them.

Entry 2 of my personal reading challenge. This brings back memories of this old very short-lived show called Threshold with the premise of aliens using a signal that essentially hacked the human body turning hapless individuals into sleepers. Some of the main cast are exposed and either have negligible effects or start noticing "enhancements" like one guy not needing his glasses after a time. I guess this disaster was so far-reaching there's no power-hungry clandestine organizations trying to capitalize on the vacuum created, that's how badly sh** hit the fan! Love the way you demonstrate how to think outside the box when it comes to formatting!
