Deep Gnomes

Deep Gnomes, sometimes called Rock Gnomes, are a sub-species of Gnome commonly found in The Deepdark. Because of their subterranean lifestyle Deep Gnomes have an aversion to bright light, specifically sunlight.

Culturally they are almost polar opposites of Gnomes, Deep Gnomes are not energetic, curious or excitable people, they aren't a big fans of noise, or comedy, living most of their lives in silence. They are notoriously miserable creatures.

The only thing that Deep Gnomes share with surface Gnomes is that they are very community focused, with Deep Gnomes living in close proximity to each other in their subterranean tunnel networks, and the fact that they are known to be skilful artisans. Their skill in mining, gem-cutting, and stonework are well sought after by merchants throughout the Deepdark.

Not too much more is known about Deep Gnome culture as they are rarely seen on the surface, preferring to remain hidden in their subterranean homes. They are usually a reclusive people, and for good reason, as many threats wander the Deepdark, and Deep Gomes are often captured and enslaved by Dark Elves and Deeftgar.
