Deeftgar
The Deeftgar (Dýptgar), sometimes called Deep Dwarves or Grey Dwarves, are a sub-species of subterranean Dwarves who are most often found within the Deepdark. Because of their subterranean lifestyle, Deeftgar have an aversion to bright light, specifically sunlight. Deeftgar is believed to be derived from "Depths Dwarf" in Dwarvish.
A vast majority of Deeftgar are members of the Deeftgar Clans and live in multiple settlements spread across the Deepdark, all ruled over by the "Deepking" (Dýptkóngur), a wealthy monarch who is said to rule with total power.
The Deeftgar Clans are notorious for their violent attacks, slavery, xenophobia and sexism. Because of this Deeftgar are widely hated across Exorsia and the Deepdark, particularly among other Dwarves, leading to them being mistrusted and even hunted, particularly within the Kingdom of Dun’Vol, where Deeftgar raids and spies are more common.
Appearance
Deeftgar resemble surface Dwarves in many ways, with short stature and thick beards, but they have a very limited colour pallet in comparison.
Complexion: Deeftgar skin tones are usually a shade of grey or purple.
Hair: Deeftgar head hair and beard hair is predominantly white in colour. But many Deeftgar go bald early on in their lives.
Eyes: Deeftgar tend to have large, glassy, grey eyes, or sometimes pink coloured eyes.
