Terrena
The Terrena ancestry are a group of species that can trace their origin back to the Titans, the Giant spawn of the Primordial Deity of Earth, Gaia. Species from the Terrena ancestry are usually humanoid, and can be recognised by their sturdy builds, large noses, and earthy appearance.
Terrenan species are sometimes called Giantkin, specifically when referring to species that are related to, or are descended from True Giants, such as Goliaths and Ogres.
Terrenan can be found all across the Planes and range from Mortals to Quasi-Deities, with there being numerous Mortal species of Terrenan, though most Giantkin are neither Mortals, nor Immortals.
Shared Characteristics
Appearance
Build. Terrenan are humanoid in appearance, and are usually large in size, standing between 3 and 9 meters tall, with sturdy, stocky builds.
Ears & Nose. Terrenan usually have large, rounded ears, as well as large, bulbous noses, similar in appearance to that of Humans, but significantly larger in size.
Hair. Terrenan often have thick, bristly hair, and copious amounts of body hair. Terrenan hair often turns grey or white with age, with many Terrenan also experiencing baldness in their later years.
Skin. Terranean usually have thick skin, usually in an earthy, sometimes rock-like texture and colour, though some Terranean have skin tones similar to Humans, ranging from a light pale complexion to a dark brown one.
Biology
Dense Bones. Terranean have incredibly dense bone structures, making them incredibly heavy in weight, and unlikely to experience broken bones.
Elemental Affinity. Terranean often have an affinity for Elemental Magic, usually for Earth based Magic, but specific Terranean species have an affinity for other elements.
Endothermic. Terranean maintain their body temperature metabolically, largely by the use of heat released by their internal bodily functions.
Giant Strength. Terranean are usually incredibly physically strong, as well as being incredibly resilient.
Omnivorous. Terranean are usually omnivores, eating a mix of meat and plant matter, though some Terranean species are carnivorous.
Sex & Reproduction. The Terranean species has two sexes, and reproduce similarly to Humans.
Viviparous. Terranean reproduce through giving birth to live young, though unlike Mammals, Terranean experience fewer negative conditions during pregnancy, as well as usually becoming stronger and healthier, at the cost of requiring more food.
