Spartan Armor

The armor melds with you, making you stronger. The armor makes you nigh on invincible. Your brothers in arms stand side by side you in preparation to hold the line, as the sky begins to darken over Thermopylae and a sound like rolling thunder drifts over the horizon. Suddenly a wave of earth crashes over you, overwhelming the senses. Your eyes slowly adjust, now your armor lets you see without sight. The outlines of the enemies heat an indicator of where to strike. Demons fall by your blade one after the other as you meet them beneath the earth. Until finally your armor creaks under the weight of a thousand strikes and shatters. Then all that is left is the honor of death and Elysium.
Spartan Armor refers to one of two things: The armor created by Saint Flammel and worn by the forces of Saint Leonidas. Or it can refer to the lesser, imitation armor created by Ptah, and worn sporadically by the forces of The Devils. The armor possesses several magical abilities designed to enhance the combat abilities of its user, most often including strength and speed enhancing enchantments. The main armor includes an incredible number of enchantments that are almost impossible to know in full, due to their activation be triggered when needed.

Usage

Utility

The main utility of these suits of armor is their combat ability, when used in combat they have been said to make their user as powerful as an entire battalion. The suits are known to have several enchantments that they all share, as well as specialization enchantments, and some enchantments that are only possessed by the original.
Two warriors wearing Spartan Armor, specifically the Underground specialist Ptah, and the General use Flammel, given to them for an underground rescue by the Modan Empire.
The suits always possess some form of enchantment to enhance its user strength, its user speed, and its users durability. Common specialized units are often specialized around various magics (usually imbued with this magic by deities on both sides) and specialized to combat in unique terrains, such as the air, sea, or underground. The enchantments on these specialities often assisted, such as flight for arial combat, water breathing for aquatic combat, and night-vision for underground combat.
Units designed by Flammel tend to have more enchantments than Ptah units altogether, possessing minor features that aren't obvious until they become applicable.

Complexity

The units are incredibly magically complex, the enchantments often strengthen one another and interact in near indecipherable ways. Magologists who have attempted to replicate or even simply understand how it works have found themselves baffled by seemingly useless enchantments that are used incredibly frequently.
Why the hell is there a seal function?! Not binding, the animal?!

Access

The suits are extremely rare and usualy reserved for government affairs when any government can get their hands on one. However several still exist in the "wild" of people's basements and storage facilities so it's difficult but not impossible to get one.

History

Creation

Flamel

Utilizing Guild, Saint Flamel was able to manipulate the state of the titansteel used in the suits in order to cause these enchantments. The material, which is unique to the suits, is extremely magiconductive and can absorb large amounts of magical energy, as such the enchantments are the byproduct of gods pressing huge amounts of their energy into these suits. This then allowed them to have many opposable effects for their users.
One of the most commonly used features is the "one size fits all enchantment."
There were however limits, and within those limits came the few specializations, on the side of Saints there was at least one suit of armor made to be exclusive to each deities energy. He was also able to get several of the other deities on the opposite side to output enough energy to charge a suit. This resulted in highly specialized units to accompany their more opposable brethren.

Ptah

Ptah's suits are significantly easier to understand at first glance, but more complicated the deeper you go. The suits were designed using Tinker exclusively, and possess a wide array of enchantments. The earlier designs were fairly simple, just super-durable suits of armor that made their users stronger. Ptah was able to get near the abilities of the original suits, but ended up falling short just before his death.

Modern day

In the modern day there are currently:
  • 107 early use Ptah suits
  • 5 refined Ptah suits
  • 3 air specialized Ptah suits
  • 1 underground specialized Ptah suit
  • 4 sea specialized Ptah suits
  • 13 general use Flamel suits
  • 1 (of each) XY specialized Brawn specialized Guild specialized Defense Specialized Visir specialized Witchcraft specialized Necromancy specialized Mage specialized and Undone specialized Flamel suit for 10 specialized suits in total
that are still functioning to this day. Of those,

  • 18 early use Ptah suits
  • 1 air specialized Ptah suit
  • 3 sea specialized Ptah suits
  • The Xy, Defense, and Necromancy specialist suits
are within public use, not the property of any government or military. This is due to the fact that the suits are incredibly powerful, and that any Terran species current understanding of them is very little.
DO NOT SELL THESE!!! PROPERTY OF GOV!!! NAT. SECURITY!!!

In summary: Most suits in the modern day are coveted by governments who cannot replicate them, but can try to control them.
