Primordial Magic
Also known as planetary magic or elemental magic.
By itself, it is simply a form of energy, that of matter itself. Lightning, fire, water, stone, all the basic simple stuff that isn't alive but makes up the very nature of what a planet is, the inorganic stuff that hosts life.
As this stuff accumulates somewhere, it can begin to congeal, coalesce into solid shapes, gain consciousness and sometimes even intelligence. As this happens and it accumulates more, it tends to grow exponentially and can go from a mote to a Primordial Titan within one hundred years, given the opportunity to grow together well enough.
As the peoples of the planet grew and developed and gave rise to gods, the gods felt they needed to do something about this. (I need to tie this to the timeline and vice versa.), and so they made the Darkness Magic to murder the coalesced consciousnesses, from mote to Titan, and disperse the energy so that it wouldn't be able to do it again.
And then they sealed the natural energy away into what became Hell, after we started trying to clean up Asmodeus's mess, in the core of the planet where it's been lying more or less dormant with its vents here and there in the world, including the Edged Lands as they were born originally during the cataclysm when the mountains rose.
It acts as its own power source and substance, and is independent of the divine and cosmic realm, solely intwined with the planet itself. (It regards most of the divine-created things as abominations, and it's not much fonder of fae. Things imbued with this energy are generally disliked greatly by holy magicians and vice versa, and there have been several wars about this over time)
When manipulated by Holy Magic , it turns into what the Cat is calling Darkness, and can manifest as monsters, including as the Terrasque, or whatever I end up calling the world-eater monster.
In the day and age of writing, ~4300, the main manifestations are Elemental Sorcerers, Elementals, Sprites, Motes and sometimes it'll infuse itself into giants, resulting in New Age Titans (which are not in any way real Primordial Titans
