Then, according to Vanya's transmission, ten Ravengard (a unit of them) landed as Vanya and Davish approached us in a nondescript clunker of a vehicle.
 
Sera Nolath passed out unconscious, under the care of a hastily repaired 2NB medic-bot and Danar. In a sudden epiphany, I realized I needed to reinstall the dorid's backup battery forward, not backward, and it sputtered to more life. It claimed Sera was dying. I chose to use, for the first time, my medical scanner glove to scan a person's medical situation. (GASP!) My glove told me she was a 19-standard year-old Dathomirian, and her vital signs were crashing. She suffered from 9 separate puncture wounds, (probably from Ravengard vibro-knives
plus some sort of toxin / poison(?). we eventually identified it as The Grey Creep.
 
My Vor, Danar, began repairs to the power conduits, when I noticed a red light saber ignited in the dark hallway outside the medical bay.
 
"Hello, Neighbor," I told it's owner as I repaired a faulty light fixture over my head to illuminate the person better. He was not Ravengard, he carried a light saber and a pistol among his caped outfit and clean shoulder-pauldrons. He knew Yosha Nolze by name. Sera Noleth, of Jamus node drew his attention. He said, "The ledger requires closure."
 
Yosha said he is a Mandrake, (Overseer Kael Drevath), one of the GenoHaradan Handlers of the Void Widows. He claims his people needed to "weed the garden" of the naturally growing chaos. We all talked to him. "The ledger updates and the probability changes," he said, "The ledger is closed for [Sera's] entry, for this [perhaps referring to all of us] entry."
 
Danar asked, and the mandrake said the hired killers (the unit of approaching Ravengard) are lower on the ledger. He suggested we find somewhere else to be. I noticed that he seemed to be draining the heat from the room. Interesting.
 
"That one is yours," he said, backing out strategically, "She is no longer an entry in the ledger. I no longer have to strike her myself," and for our benefit, apparently, he added, "Iceheart uses precision instruments for politics. A certain Hutt ... uses a bludgeon. They are (high) on the leger. When the time comes, you will want to be somewhere else, or else right there [in the middle of it]. Good day."
 
We continued our work to lead the unit of Ravengard into a trap which might help us to escape. Yosha worked on poison-ish gas. Danar accessed the electronics in the Ravengard Armor communications. And I got into the defense systems (as badly damaged as they were) and found one corridor which had the most online defenses to set as our trap. Danar fed me position data on them as they approached.
 
While we prepared, I received a call from Captain Koleen, asking for me to access a map of the imperial mining facilities (publicly available details only, of course) and lookup the location of Laboratory 1313. I found it was directly underneath us. She said she wanted a sample of the hostile grey sludge, which was discovered by Black Sun down in the water supply. Don't drink the water is an important safety tip.
 
We took the lift and our new gurney-bot (formerly the 21B medical-droid) carrying Sera down to the lower areas where Black Sun operatives had entered and their survivors exited, making a new unmapped exit for our personal use, and possibly leaving a vehicle or two abandoned. It was moist and mossy. Life covered all the old Imperial concrete and steel.
 
Captain Kolleen messaged me just as I was attempting to spy the creepy fluttering things on the ceiling. Danar used his tractor-beam glove to acquire a sample of the grey ferny moss under our feet, and I sealed it in a hermetic canister. All seemed to be going very well.
 
Davish thinks it is an elaborate con job. VN: Why? To terrify people?
