It only took two days to travel from Chalcedon to Dantooine.
It seems longer when you are helping a pair of newly engaged Vors (Danar Vorpadaran and Yosha Nolzi) and cleaning weaponized Beef Stroganoff out of the cargo bay.
Others were talking about the "Kill List" provided to the Void Widows. My name was high on the list. Hmm.
When I heard Danar was presenting his new fiancé to his aunt, I realized my Vor was in need of a proper engagement ring. I sneaked out to a local antique & junk shop and found a nice tray of assorted exotic metal parts. I used their facilities to forge something in the same family of engagement rings I had seen kept for many Vor generations and passed down to descendants. When it was ready, I also purchased a fairly common box to contain it. I made sure to learn in detail its resonating frequencies, so that I can locate it if it ever gets lost down a drain or some such.
I took it surreptitiously to my Vor, and during a moment when he was away from his fiancé, I told him, "I forgot one important detail!", and returned to the shop. You see, I had been thinking about the groom-to-be, but not about the bride-to-be. I included into the design a roll-over cyanide capsule container, which I'm certain the bride-to-be will seek and detect and appreciate immediately. I sneaked back to my Vor with the now completed ring.
I presented it to Danar, and he turned me down, saying he had already been engaged recently. I provided context, and he took the gift, appreciated the quality, and made plans to give to his fiancé when the time is right.
Just then, I received a high-priority communique from Mentat Chancellor Sett Fin of the Mentat Science Academy, a very strict and conservative fellow. He that said a recent paper which I had published had, "heresy dripping from every letter", and that he would send a Mentat Cohort of Auditors to gather "ample evidence" to support or contradict my hypotheses.
Vanya sort of called a meeting, by speaking with Hicks on the NightSparrow's X-Wing, discussing what spyware could be there. Such as the many tracer disks Hicks had already found and removed. We deduced they could have been added after it left Captain Koleen's possession. It was stolen and impounded by the Bureau of ships and Services. Also, the Ministry of Information and the Bene Gesserit make tracers which droids have a hard time detecting. I dug into the encryption. It was transmitting to a particular location with two levels of messaging in the signal: One to the moon of Spacers Tears, and one to one of the relays in system. I hacked it.
We assembled all our droids, including Spook, BB-21, and Omicron to check for such bugs and tracers. Omicron, being a medical droid, noticed that the tracer example I had available was looking for a particular genetic code, that of Kaminoan Clones. That explained the original signal, for the Kaminoan we met at Spacer's Tears. Omicron also tested Rex and Cody and all the clone troopers we knew. The other was headed for Coruscant, (home of Star Empire Imp Intelligence, and all the other ones wanting to eavesdrop on them.)
I sent a quick private message to Rocky ElRoad, the only other Mentat I knew to be on Chalcedon, to inform him about the expected Cohort of Auditors.
Almon mentioned The Mentat Cloud, but it really would have taken a few introductory classes to bring everybody up to date on that, so we just summarized that we have access to information.
In front of everyone, I contacted the one known Replicant whom I have met and told her of the cohort of Mentat auditors on the way and gained her willing assistance for gathering data for when they arrive.
Then Commissar Celestima arrived. Of course, she was hunting for "her" Lieutenant Jessup, who was kidnapped by the Void Widows. Jedi Vanya explained to her that we have learned that the Void Widows are enslaved, and working for someone we have not yet identified.
Vanya and I showed her the tracer and what we had learned. She mentioned the Emperor's Adeptas Voidelas, the Order of Silence.
Soon I mean to verbally inform Almon DeJoy and asked his help in providing 'ample evidence' that The Math flows through us all, and that Replicants and Awakeen are not "machines built in the image of the human mind", but a race of people. The Sisters of Battle, I know, are also deeply interested in that answer.
We arrived soon on Dantooine with its lust forests and grasses. Captain Koleen contacted the shipping company. Traffic Control gave us two parking spaces.
Standing there was a solitary Admiral Thrawn, apparently unguarded, watching the landing field and support personnel like it was a chess board. His people, the Chiss are a spiritual people who highly value loyalty and teamwork.
I made an impression by forcing him to move a few steps to keep his strategic viewpoint when I made use of a snack truck, sending it to an unplanned location and mixed three military protein shakes with a flavoring of puzzle fruit and Sapho Juice. He and I and Almon sipped our drinks as we discussed current events.
He noted that I experimented with the fringe edges of science, and asked to discuss a possible business arrangement between himself, I, Captain Koleen, TC-157 (Hicks), and Noki, as well as Danar Vorpadaran of course.
Apparently, "Iceheart" had become a bit of a thorn in Thrawn's side.
Jedi Vanya gave me a tactical suggestion, so I reached out into The Math and noticed that several lumps on ground were active in the radiowave spectrum, presumably disguised soldiers or robbers.
Captain Koleen arranges to land a cargo shuttle on them.
Gave Thrawn my shield belt so that he would not be injured should the disguised troops turn out to not be his.
The lumps turned out to be his. They gave up their hiding places, and at the Admiral's suggestion, and provided a guard to keep robbers and mercenaries at bay as the cargo was delivered appropriately.
We made a dinner date to discuss more.
