In support of Captain Kolene's non-torture interrogation of Mentat Cadbury, I have instructed him to do the hard work of redemption.
He will not be taking the easy way out. He does not get the easy path. He will spend the rest of his life doing the work of redemption. No wimping out into despair, no passive suicide. He shall do the work.
And this path started an hour ago.
Any time he deviates from this path, a random Kolene will hit him in the face with a pie.
Might not always be a cream pie. Might have a crust.
KitKat has joined the galley conversation with Cadbury. He brought exhibits specifically for his conversation with Cadbury. He also has a couple of items on which he wants to solicit ideas from me, from the Kolenes, and so on.
One of those items: a pyramidal holocron that contains the compiled personality and information of one blue-skinned Felseir Stempig
Who keeps responding to me with "Funny you should ask that!"
According to the relevant article on the Jedi Quest Fan Wiki:
Felseir Stempig was a Jedi Outlaw Tech in the show Canon
and supposedly* he experimented with Holocron Technology. He was quite good with it, but in a disturbing sense. He had a way to have a Holocron generate a full-body environment instead of "merely" a holographic projection.
He supposedly invented the ability to generate practical sets.
I think they call these the "HOLODECK EPISODES"
There was a Sith involved!
And on the Expanded Universe tab:
He did not truly die; He elevated himself to a Greater Force Being!
KitKat wants to conduct a "private" conversation with Cadbury. The Kolenes head out the foreward door that leads toward the cockpit. I head out the aft door that connects to most of the rest of the ship's corridors.
Cadbury is a mess, mentally speaking. He believes that Icehart made this mess of him.
Cadbury wants to be rescued.
Still to be determined: Does Braq-Qoli Florette also wish to be rescued?
We might find out in the most practical-effects way, because Omitron has strong preferences for removing the inappropriate cyberware from where it ought not to be.
Apparently, Mentats can defrag themselves.
(??)
The cargo bay detainee may not be prepared to cooperate with a rescue plan. Almon, Yosha, and Danar want us to come get some information on that.
Admiral Miles Naismith may be sticking his exponentially difficult oar into the Thrawn problem.
Late at night:
Hicks calls to warn us that BoSS is coming to ask some pointed questions.
Rex'ika knocks on the hatch to warn us that BoSS is on the way to us just a few minutes behind them.
BoSS says they got a tip that some Raven Guard miscreants are hiding aboard the Night Sparrow. When the Raven Guard jailbirds are shown a live transmission of me, they throw precisely the expected style of hissyfit over any idea that a Ravenguard would willingly be on a ship with me.
- Yosha, who was activated to work on us while we were on Chalcedon, trained on Jaemus.
- Zaye Grakkus, who was activated far away from Chalcedon, trained on Ord Mandel in a camp that no longer exists.
- A Void Widow cell does exist on Chalcedon. Their training ground is either on Spacer's Tears, or in the Graveyard. Probably the former.
I'm going to ask Commissar Celestima to discreetly check Spacer's Tears for indications that a black operatives base camp exists there, or recently did. We do not want the adversary to know that anyone knows of this base camp, so she will need to use all her subtlety in this.
Our late night data crystal delivery has a text-only message allegedly from Commander Maeques.
By now hopefully you will have sealed off one half the holocron.
The other half is with the Keeper.
The lightsaber is a warning.
I have the kyber crystal that activates both the holocrons together.
That holocron is not safe.
By now you should know, the Void Widows are a big problem. They stay too close to me to get that holocron back to where it belongs.
Get the pieces.
Put it together.
Take it to Bendu.
It is not a Jedi holocron; it's not a Sith holocron. It belongs to Bendu.
Oh. When you go to Jaemus? Be careful of Operation Death Hunter.
Near midnight:
Davish is back with the pyramidal holocron, the red-crystalled lightsaber, and the wraparound note.
Watch your back
███,███,███
The pyramidal holocron is not Sith. It glows purple. When activated without a component kyber crystal, it plays audio of chanting that sounds dai Bendu to me.
After comparing notes with my partner, I contact Tokis Nindon. My info for her is that two years ago, Commander Maeques went to the ruins north of Dantoo-Town and did a self-guided tour that was disrupted by an attempted ambush. Before Commander Maeques went into the ruin, she placed several security devices outside the entry area -- knowing what I know about her, almost certainly top level Galactic Star Empire tech. Maeques won the fight against possible Void Widows, but left the ruin very quickly and left the planet shortly afterward with her next stop being Yavin IV.
The first bounty hunter to go looking for those concealed security devices might still find some of them, and get a potential edge in the search.
Also I do not wish to go search Yavin IV. It's a thickly jungled land mass. I am a mountains-and-urban woman. I won't have much chance of finding anything.
Nindon's information to me is that her contractee's priorities have been confirmed to be:
One. Locate Thrawn.
Capture him and bring him to Coruscant.
Specifically, bring him to the Lower 13 Deck region known as "Lysankia".
Two. Rattle Thrawn in such a way as to cause him to divest some of his loyal guard retinue.
(This does not even begin to make any sense.)
Three. Track the trail of Commander Ivana Maeques. Determine her current location, and capture her. Determine what she has been doing for the past few years, with specifics to any items or information she has brought away from Coruscant and concealed.
Nindon says she found out after her team got to work here on Dantooine that the employer (female pronouns, likely to be Ysanne Issard? but I'm guessing there in advance of real clues) hired several bounty teams and retrieval specialists, with the intent that they would compete against one another. This is a direct contravention of the Bounty Hunter Guild's rules.
The bargain I made with Tokis Nindon is fulfilled. I wish her well, clear channel, wait a few, and then contact Commissar Celestima as I had told the team I would.
She will investigate in Spacer's Tears for past or current signs of Solias Traft, former Galactic Empire Colonel, ongoing smuggler of ancient artifacts particularly from the Church of the Force. Traft is known to have had an interest in the property of Ferrin the Collector who resided on Chalcedon until 12731:04:07.
This investigation will naturally include (or, sometimes, definitively exclude) conditions and facts that draw a silhouette. Within that hidden shape are the possibilities of a Void Widow logistics base, information or capital depot, and/or training facility.
That is more than plenty for one day!
Time for a bit of meditation, a quick meal, and some sleep. We'll be traveling to Jaemus in the morning.
