You Are Here Now

This site contains worldbuilding and prose for writing projects of varied lengths and genres. Most of the work of outlining, writing, and editing, takes place off WA, so this site will get infrequent updates depending on the stage I'm at in my current work-in-progress.   If you're familiar with World Anvil, you've likely come to expect one "World" to be a whole, connected piece, but here, each project is too small to justify having an entire World for it. Instead, each category covers what otherwise might be in an entire World.

What It Means

Part of my broader philosophy on creativity, "you are here now" is a reminder to embrace the current stage of your creative journey. We're often focused on where we want to be in the future, sometimes to the point that we get frustrated we're not there yet. But our current place is a necessary step on the way to where we want to be. What we create today, we couldn't have created at any other time.   You are here now. Maybe you want to be somewhere else, whether in mind or body. But you're not there. You are here. You're never going to get there if you don't start here. There is later. Here is now. Might as well make the most of it.

Who I Am

I'm a queer storyteller living outside Boston, Massachusetts. I've been writing novels for fun since the mid-2000s and sharing bits of my writing since my wordpress.com days in the 2010s (ask me how it relates to jaw surgery).   While I'd like to pursue trad pub someday, whether for novels or something shorter, I remain focused on the "for fun" part. Capitalism likes to deem art worthwhile only if we make money off of it, which can infect our minds and make us value product over process. Completing that end product is great, but I want to make sure I'm enjoying the process to get there, too.   Here on World Anvil, I'm most known for wow that's a lot of stars, a sci-fi/adventure setting that won Best World in 2026. I also have some smaller projects and help out with World of Worlds, a site dedicated to helping people find more worldbuilding to read. You can see more of what I'm up to from my author page.
