Journey To Ammand

Ervenian Era, 1051 AB
The newly named Heroes of Clochdor venture west along The Ivory Route, going from the Principality of Sabersycha to the Holy City of Ammand in the Kadian Kingdom of Ader.

Plot points/Scenes

Sabersycha

The party traveled from Vamos's estate to Port Thucuain over three days, with Vamos staying to study under Fragan Eburio. After deciding to stay the night, they look for something to do; while Grisha and Venus go to the docks to play in an underground gambling den, Lomer and Zigi do their best to help a sick family, and manage to heal them almost completely.

Paquecia

The party reaches an inn at the tri-border of Droiasab, Brasina and Amghanis, a place called Grango’s Inn. There they meet a strange individual named Jarxis, who claims to be the transporter of the College of Discord, which they wish to travel to. On the way there, he shows them a marsh with a ship suspended in midair that can only be seen from a precise angle, and where anyone standing in the ship's vicinity "sees like a tree". Stopping at Trikasin, Tegabran's capital, Grisha, Lomer, and Venus all hear strange howling at night. The next day they continue on their journey in Jarxis's carriage, when suddenly Vamos appears.
A strange sound, like an echo of horses whinnying inside a metal tube, rich with sharp overtones and carrying a resonating bass, keeps reverberating.
Vamos's head starts spinning; he needs to sit; Lord Eburio is already seated; he needs to sit. Vamos needs to sit. As he raises his head, he notices that the Lord Eburio stares at something; there’s a third person in the room; a vaguely aged man, wearing facepaint and strange robes; he seems… Jovial.
"Hey, I’m taking him for a few hours, yeah?"
There’s that sound again; Vamos's head is spinning again, but… shaking, instead. He's seeing double; quadruple; everything’s blurry, and that’s it. He's in a carriage, with the rest of the party.

College of Discord

The college of discord levitates before them, impossibly high in the air. The sound of waves echoes between the floating rocks, harmonizing with the gentle summer breeze and the distant sound of seagulls and valravns. The elegant spires of the college’s buildings are impressive, with vibrant marble facades so pristine they might as well have been installed for their arrival.

When a wave crashes against the distant rocks, the buildings vanish for a split second; the structures’ colors and luster make them look exactly like seaspray. They stand in stark contrast to the islands’ untamed foliage, a thick underbrush comprised of overgrown ferns and tall canopies comprised of broadleaf trees; who knows what lives there.

Jarxis transports them to the college, where they are greeted with incredulous stares by everyone present; nobody at the college knows who Jarxis is, and there is no such role as transporter; Jarxis is nowhere to be seen. Nevertheless, the mere fact the party managed to arrive at the college grounds is impressive enough, and they are allowed to wander around the campus.

Grieslandic League

Doodad Farm

After traveling through the Ciambavign Highway the party arrives at Gaa'rei Rislan, where they discover to their dismay that transportation would cost thousands of gold pieces. They are approached by Gizmo, who offers to transport them for 50 gp each; they agree and assist the brothers on their farm, but they see through the charade and refuse to fight the gorgon, while taking the cockatrices poison gland who they conclude might be sold for a handy sum. Vamos sends word to his estate in Sabersycha where he tells of the party's suspicion of the brothers.   The brothers transport them to the Sunwheel Speakeasy, where the innkeeper tells them that they can continue to Izim or Mizuar, where his relatives also have inns. After a Drow from Clan Fygy tries to underpay them for the cockatrice poison, they start a bar fight, which they easily dominate. The next day, they take a ferry to Izim.

Izim

In Izim they pay a tour guide named Guizzo who shows them around; Grisha pays an urchin name Iba to tell them if the Doodad Brothers set up shop. Then, the party goes to the Topless Queen, an inn owned and operated by Tinamer "Greenscarf".   The Doodad Brothers arrive and sell their wares in Izim, and are guarded by two stone golems, prompting the party to wait for a better time to serve justice. They meet a trader named Bulughin who travels to Kenverporin and offers them to join him.

North Gulf

Bulughin drops them off at the border, where they purchase 3 Tsughts with pack saddles in order to traverse the desert. On the second day of their journey, a sand storm starts roiling, and navigation becomes harder and harder. In the distance, they spot a city and start heading towards it; much to their dismay, it was a mirage, and they realize they are now lost in the desert. After four days have passed, they are approached by Ooazasof the Outcast, who offers to guide them to the oasis; unfortunately, it was the wrong one, and they again head into the desert with the gentle giant, until they reach Nimveh.

Nimveh

In Nimveh, they visit the temple of Onva, where they partake in the hedonism, and Zigi loses his virginity. The city placed a bounty on Burkaslanan traders, and the party offers their service. In return, the high priestess, a Sphinx named Ninamen, offers to answer a question they have; Zigi asks what might cause the strange perfectly round injuries they discovered on several bodies throughout their journey; after 8 days, they have their answer - Messenger.   From there, they take the ferry to Qazmesh, a four day journey.

    Yokun Empire

    Omnodgao and Mponesi

Over time, the hot sands of the desert are replaced with hard, rocky ground, a smooth transition suddenly contrasted by the shift into Yokun territory – sharply marked by a bridge’s checkpoint in the form of a wooden gatehouse, which proudly displays the flags of the Ivory Yotsereg on its walls.

Eight uniformed guards oversee and supervise the passage, at least twice as much atop the battlements, and who knows how many are garrisoned in the barracks. The desert winds blow in the canyon below, carrying the sound of a horn blast, yells, and clashing metal; sounds of battle.

Somewhere in the mass of panicked traders and travelers is a person that, five minutes ago, yelled something about orcs and slavery. The gate sergeant’s patience finally runs out, and he issues a simple yet credible threat of violence, causing the crowd to quickly reform into three orderly queues and the soldiers to immediately resume their duties.

At the other side of the bridge is an unwalled city, as if daring any would-be marauders to ascend the rockface, climb out of the ravine, and ravage it.
This is an issue the empire seeks to address, judging by the military camp annexed to the city.

In Mponesi, the party realizes that virtually anything can be bought and sold. They seek to buy Weird Ivory, and they discover it is available only in wholesale, and costs 750 GP for a block, or 28,000 for a crate; they pass. However, they do also find that there's a slave market, which they don't approve of. Grisha teaches a slave how to lockpick, and gave him something to lockpick with. He also gives one of the more “professional” slaves two flasks of acid. Meanwhile, Zigi and Venus start a fight and Venus almost starts shifting, but heroically manages to hold it off. The distraction is successful, and Grisha's acts are undetected. Overnight, while the party sleeps, the slaves attempt to escape and some free themselves.

    Tu-Han and Baoyang

The Kadian slang word “tuani” means oddball or peculiar, and it originates as back as the days of the first empire of Ader.
A common tale in Sabersycha tells that Yrsirelth’s father was a wingless dragon, from somewhere beyond the steppes.
A continental survey report indicates that an entire nation has teleported unto Epeoris once before, some thousands of years ago.
Wormsilk, though considered inferior to spidersilk, is the traditional thread used for A'shiraf'sirizeen embroidery.

    And it comes from Tu-Han.
The party arrives at Baoyang, where they find to their surprise that the city is unguarded; however, the city is clearly mobilizing for the Yokun-Novogrumm Intervention, with the banners of the Sapphire Yotsereg and Armies of Tu-Han prominently displayed all over.   The forges work constantly and access to the smith's street is restricted; most shops are operated by children or the elderly, and writs of seizures are nailed to doors, carriages and wagons; leaflets also tell that Ebegei Chogeris is in the city waiting for combatants. Inspecting a noticeboard with several notes, three notes pique their interest: a bounty for monster hunting in the Swamps of Yao-Shagai; a noble lord searching for his son; and a vague note, which Grisha reckons to be spy recruitment.   The party opts to aid the noble in finding his son; the noble, Huang Jin of the Qai Huang clan, is pleased when he learns of Vamos's noble status and is put at ease, speaking openly. The son, Huang Bei, was last seen by his attendant Chen on the night between the 5th and 6th of Kanakjak; Chen is awaiting execution for losing track of his charge, and tells the party that the son is fond of whores, gambling, and a drug known as Chopcane, a euphoriant and aphrodisiac.   They go to the kitchen looking for gossip:
    Bei has a chopcane problem...
    Chen is an untrustworthy pig!
Chopcane has a hold over Bei
Bei has a favored escort, her name is Bi
    Bei's favored escort is An
