Worldbuilding Awards 2026
My Nominations!
Losing my mind a little bit at being nominated for best article two years in a row! With two other nominations on top of that! So grateful to everyone who's been supporting my work and my progress!
My Entries!
I hope the team really enjoys these entries, and seeing how they've changed over time! I hope the community enjoys them, too!
Hearts & Minds
An article touching on intellectual, sociological, spiritual or cultural accomplishments and traditions of a people in your world.I think many of us can relate to the bliss of shedding a dreary, grey, cold winter and reveling in the soft sunshine and fresh blooms of spring's annual return. Flowers are the heart of Iverra's people, and it's that joy I hoped to put front and center in the Festival of Blooms!
I know plenty of folks love winter. I can forgive this transgression against me and my easily frozen bird hands if you can put aside your winter spirit for a moment to indulge in some flowers and festivities with the people of Ayun Sovos!
Rise of Nations
An article relevant to the history of civilisations and peoples of your world, and their legacies.Civilizations rise and fall in Malkora at the whims of the world itself, with many of these events driven by the flow of the leylines. Just as the arcane shapes the world, it seeps into the fabric of humanity as well — and sometimes the chemistry doesn't mix well.
Bloodlines may be more of a "natural" concept, but the natural order of humanity, and the way it shifts and changes with the world, shapes the flow of civilization. From arcane kingdoms to withered villages... and the other way around.
Wondrous Nature
Your natural world in all its glory — an article describing anything from species to locations, to natural and supernatural events, and bizarre naturally-occurring materials. The Lessai are a people bound to nature itself, as their lifeblood rejects the arcane that overtook their ancestral home. Druids, earth shapers, and conservatists make up their population, living connected with their natural world.
One of many examples of how the subject above, Ancient Bloodlines, has a hand in driving human civilization throughout the world. As a portion of their kingdom gets to live lofty lives in their old home, the Lessai have set out elsewhere.
Strength & Honor
An article relevant to the interactions of the people of your world across a grand scale — diplomacy, war, trade and collaboration, and the people who drive and engineer them.Grit, cunning, and strength are all crucial traits to bring to the battlefield — this is something the denizens of Ayun Sovos know well! That's why the Battle at Quacking Pond was truly one for the ages. All of this pie is so hard to clean off, though.
What? Bloodshed? No, we don't need any of that. Warfare has its own flavor out here in these quaint farmlands, but the impact is just as grand! Folks from across the pond still tell the tales of this great battle and the origins of the traditions which surround it!
Pillars of Progress
An article describing a technological or scientific accomplishment, or celebrating creations developed by the people of your world. While we celebrate the creations of this world, we should certainly celebrate those who make those creations! The Artisans of Ayun Sovos come in all shapes, sizes, and flavors, and they're to blame for all of the marvelous creations found in the world!
Exploring how artisans express themselves across the world is such a joy and delight! It's a window into all of the different cultures I've yet to meet and explore throughout Ayun Sovos!
Myths & Legends
An article describing an aspect of your worldbuilding that's mythical or fictional within the construct of your world, even if it's based on true events. The Leyline of Oblivion is shrouded in myth from every corner of the world, largely believed to have had a direct role in what could have been the end of the world itself. Just how much of it is true? No one can prove any theories yet...
This is a feature of my own world that intrigues me to no end. I'll let you in on a small secret... even I'm not sure, yet, how many of its myths are grounded in truth and which have a more sinister origin.
Best Worldbuilding Article
The proudest work of recent times!Sovosian Magic is built on whimsy, passion, and law. It's fun, free, and welcomes anyone who has the patience to master it! The world grew and developed with it, as did its people — how far things have come through the ages!
I wanted this world's magic system to be one that was fun and light, but still have enough structure to offer different paths to prospective magic users. There is so much to explore in magic, and I love it!

Good luck, my friend! I hope to get a shiny trophy like yours this year!!
