Blurrel
In a blur, it is gone before you even realise it was there.
Basic Information
Anatomy
They are long, slender creatures with long bushy tails and enormous eyes. They have four short limbs with five toes on each foot with a rudimentary thumb, soft pads on the undersides and sturdy, versatile claws on each toe for climbing. Their hind legs are powerfully built, which probably lends to their swiftness.
Biological Traits
Males have longer tails than females.
Genetics and Reproduction
They are mammals and give birth to live young. They mate once or twice a year, with a gestation period of three to six weeks, and give birth to seven to ten young in each litter.
Ecology and Habitats
They are found all over the world. They seem to like to make their homes wherever people do.
Dietary Needs and Habits
These swift thieves are known for stealing candy from a child's hands, food from picnics, just about anything they can get their filthy little hands on. In short, they will eat pretty much anything that's edible.
Behaviour
They are considered pests by some, and humorous by others. In Olympus, they're called Volur, which is Elvan for Thief, for how they will steal any food that isn't tied down. Don't leave that pie in the window! It may be gone before you can blink!

Social Structure
They have a family structure, living in family groups. Blurrels will mate for life, and their children will stay with them until they are mature enough to go out on their own.
Uses, Products & Exploitation
People have tried for years to come up with ingenious ways to prevent Blurrels from stealing their food. To date, nothing anyone has come up with has worked. They are foiled every time. Smart little buggers.
Facial characteristics
They have large black eyes and a narrow head with long incisors. They have excellent vision and will see that pie from a long way off.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
They are mostly found in urban environments, around where people live. It is thought that they adapted to leaving in proximity to people in the late First Age.
Average Intelligence
Though they are considered pests by many in the world, they have been shown to have remarkable intelligence. It's like they can think fast, too.
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
These pests are fast. Faster than you can blink. One minute they're there, the next they're gone, taking whatever edible was sitting there. There have been some conjecture that they're actually teleporting, but it has recently been proven that they are just that fast. They can run at lightning speeds.
Symbiotic and Parasitic organisms
They have grown a relationship with people over the past few thousand years. Whether that relationship is symbiotic or parasitic depends on your perspective. For most people, they are simply pests. However, some find them quite entertaining. Until their food starts disappearing too.
