Sugarfoot Lucky

A legend about the founding of Vullavual Laud, passed around by Pirates.

Summary

As the story goes, SugarFoot Lucky was a pirate on the run from the pirate hunters of the Vondren Military (or vobo as the pirates call it). Back in the early days of the organization before it was a governing body. The hunters had chased Lucky into the Diandi Len Desert.
The hunters gave up once their supplies were running low, believing the pirate likely dead. And they were very close to being correct. But before the rogue could die of exposure, Lucky saw a vision in the distance. Following desert visions is never a good idea, but the luck of Sugarfoot was strong, and they stumbled across The Wreckage, and, more importantly to them at the time, the oasis around it.
Once Lucky was done recovering, they made a small portion of The Wreckage into a base of sorts, and then began terrorising the vobo in ernist, knowing they now had a place to hide.
Eventually Lucky brought other pirates to the base and the settelment started to grow.

Historical Basis

There really isn't much actual evidence of Lucky existing, other than one bady etched bit of very old grafitti claiming ' Lucky was here'.
But Pirates that live there really don't seem to care much for history or truth. Its a fun story and they like it, so it may as well be true.
Very few rogue historians bother investigating.

Spread

The story of Sugarfoot Lucky is known to almost all pirates, whether they live in Vullavual Laud or not. Many HavocBreakers are also vaguely aware of the legend, espcially if they've delt with Vullavual Laud in any way

Variations & Mutation

Most versions of the legend involve Lucky being a DejuVi, though some variations claim Lucky was a VieBreaker.
Sometimes Lucky is displayed as a pirate hero, sometimes a villan. Sometimes Lucky shared his knowladge of Vullavual Laud freely with any pirate in need, and sometimes he was stingy, carefully guarding the secret and doing away with those who spilled it.   The only commonality in the stories is that Lucky was.. well lucky. Also that they hated water and had a huge ego.

In Literature

A good portion of pirate folk songs atleast mention Lucky.
There are also plenty of songs retelling the tale of Sugarfoot Lucky's founding of Vullavual Laud.

In Art

Depictions of Lucky are often plastered around HavocBreaker friendly locations, as is what is widely considered their symbol, and the Djiurd version of the word lucky.

While there is no no proof of Lucky ever existing, much less having descendants, many vie had laid claim to the legacy.
A more recent person with that claim would be the late Carah Brice, previous captain of the RazorRoze crew. As credible as any other claim, aka not at all, not many would discredit her to her face.
And it's not recommended you refute it to the SouthernLord either.
