Sun Elves
Sun Elves (Anordil), sometimes called High Elves, are a sub-species of Elves with a strong connection to Magic and a historically fraught relationship with the Sun and their Divine Patron, the God of the Sun, Helios.
Sun Elves are commonly found in Hepsut, making up a large population of the Coven of Maran and the majority of the Cabal of Yaren.
Historically Sun Elves had a strong relationship with their Divine Patron, Helios, but during the Age of Arcanum, in a conflict known as The Sun War, a large portion of Helios' Sun Elf worshipers were killed, with the remaining population being followers of Rhea, an aspect of the Goddess Hecate.
Following the Sun War, the majority of traditional Sun Elf culture is solely maintained by the Cabal of Yaren, who preserve the ancient Helion traditions, with the rest of the Sun Elf population, foreigners to their own history. Outside of Yaren the only sun based imagery used by the people of the Coven of Maran are ancient ceremonial armour worn for important events. A beautiful set of gold plate armour, draped over light and dark red fabrics, and all adorned with gold circular sun imagery.
Appearance
Sun Elves have a sun-touched appearance, distinguishing them from other Elves, with many of them having tan or dark coloured skin and golden eyes that reflect sunlight, making them appear as though their glowing. Some Sun Elves also have blonde or light brown hair that has a similar reflective quality.
Complexion: Sun Elves tend to have tanned skin, ranging from an olive to a dark brown complexion.
Hair: Sun Elf hair is often black or a dark brown, but some have blonde or dark red coloured hair. All hair colours commonly turn white with age.
Eyes: Sun Elves tend to have radiant gold coloured eyes, but some have brown coloured ones.
