Konungaborg
Konungaborg is one of the largest cities in the Deepdark, and the capital of the Deeftgar Clans. The city is located in the western depths of the Deepdark, positioned within a region known as the Twilight Caverns. A majority of Konungaborg's population are Deeftgar, with any over species residing within the walls being slaves or prisoners.
The Deepking of the Deeftgar Clans is said to reside within Konungaborg, as well it being the centre for the religious worship of Skapari among the Deeftgar. Unfortunately not much more is known about the city, beyond speculation and unreliable accounts, this is primarily due to both the city's location within the Deepdark, as well as it's xenophobic and hostile Deeftgar population.
Government
Konungaborg is governed by the Deepking, the monachal leader of the Deeftgar Clans. It is believed that the Deepking governs alongside a council of advisors and generals that do most of the actual governing.
The Deepking also commands the Clan Leaders, who control the settlements under the control of the Deeftgar Clans, from the capital of Konungaborg. The Deepking has been known to replace long held clan leaders in order to replace them with those loyal to the regime.
Defence
Konungaborg is defended by a large military force, likely a mix of career soldiers, as well as conscripted citizens and even slave warriors. It is believed that the cities male, Deeftgar residents are all trained in combat and can be called on at any time to serve in the defence of the city, or to join excursions to raid Deepdark settlements, as well as the surface.
All soldiers serve under their Clan Leader, who in turn serves the Deepking.
Commerce
Foreign trade from Konungaborg is very uncommon, save for the rare transactions between the Children of Arachne and the Deeftgar Clans. Most of Konungaborg's equipment and produce is either created locally (usually by slave labour), or plundered from neighbouring Deepdark settlements, or even from the surface.
Konungaborg is said to be connected to an extensive mine network that stretches deep beneath the earth, and from which the Deeftgar plunder riches of metals and gems.
Geography
Konungaborg is a imposing stone fortress, located within the south of the Twilight Caverns.
The city is built into the cavern wall, with a large potion of the city located within underground tunnels that travel deep into the earth. The visible portion of the city is a large fortress, built from smooth, dark-grey stone, with a couple of large domed buildings, courtyards, and a singular tall tower, set within a thick, unscalable wall.
Due to the secrecy and hostility of the native population, not much else is known about the layout or structure of the city.
