The Middlinging

We start a rescue/evacuation process. Verity picks up on a hatch opening somewhere on deck 2 of the Endeavor, and they are walking from a forward science pod towards the big back bulky thing. Verity relays this information to the "ground" crew. "Ground" crew decides to move towards the command faction and "take care of" them.
 
We see a shambling humanoid figure. Full team points their weapons at the figure. It cranks it's head and a piece of flesh falls off. Luquia fires, but doesn't hit. The laser bullet wizzes past it's head and it has a delayed reaction. Benat fires his weapon, and downs it in one. Benat has us fall into formation, Benat taking point.
 
Door to Operations won't open. Luquia tries the button a little harder, then a little softer. We can detect a smell of sickly sweet earth coming off of the Shambler.
 
Luquia cracks open a panel next to the door and fucks with the security a bit to get the door opened up. This is the first part of the ship that hasn't really been picked apart by survivors. still largely in order.
 
Theres a Brig, and when we open the door a cloud bursts out. When the cloud dissipates we can see a goop in the corner. Castor starts panicking and tries to push "Times like this makes you wish you had a flamethrower."
 
"I have a flamethrower" Castor says, trying not to use his pyrokinesis ability.
Once Castor has untied his panties we check the other rooms, there's an unopened bag of chips, Benat stops Luqia from picking it up.
 
Onwards to the bridge! Benat does suggest communicating through Coms and avoid exposing the survivors to more spores that might be floating on us. There is a visible layer of reddish brown powder clinging to our suits.
 
The door leading towards the bridge has the sound of creepy crawlies on the other side of the door.
 
At Castor's request, Verity does a status check with the engineering group. All seems stable. Verity also observes a returning spacewalk.
 
Ground Crew tries to seal up the goopy room, before heading to the Starboard PSM to make their way to Command.
 
Verity asks engineering if there was anyone in the Brig. There wasn't. Cole introduces us to the term "Cluster"
 
"Are you sure trying to hold out is wise?"
 
"We are starting to be more amenable to your idea..."
 
Cole looks into sendinga grunt to the Bessarion to assess it as a place for his crew to move into. Verity meets the grunt and they start making beds together.
 
Ground Crew gets into the Starboard PSM. This part of the ship has been heavily scavenged and picked over. There are noises in the ducts and in the direction of the aft of the ship.
 
As we head to the Bow of the ship we get shouted at.
 
"I'm Trennance, are you here to rescue us?"
 
Benat introduces himself as the Acting Captain of the Benat.
 
"Have you encountered the Shamblers?" Luquia asks
 
"Oh have I" Trennance says.
 
"We are here to render aid," Luquia
 
"Think you can help with this?" Trennance pulls up his shirt and reveals a nasty infected side wound.
 
Benat begins to render aid, asking the classic background questions. It looks like every other nasty infected wound Benat has ever looked at.
 
Trennance tells us that the bridge crew seems more concerned with maintaining the chain of command than survival. Likewise, engineering might be more concerned with proving the captain wrong than surviving. Cole and Trennance had some beef in the before times. Nothing dramatic, just personal shit. But the Bridge faction acts like sanctimonious assholes.
 
Jin takes the Conn from Amalia, so Amalia can go show rank with the bridge faction. Amalia goes with Mei, who also bring 4 pairs of handcuffs from the Bessarion's Brig. Verity tags along too, wanting to be able to get a better view on the situation.
