Volcano of Lies
None have been burned by its magma. So what evidence suggests that the substance in its depths is as fiery as we've been led to believe?
The Volcano of Lies, the Lying Volcano - it is a volcano. At least, that is what most label it as. But in folklore (and potentially fact), it is not so much a volcano as it is a waterbasin.
Speculations
While for any camera views from above or any visual evidence, there is a great population of individuals who would prefer to believe that there is water beneath the appearance of magma. Some have decreed that even in videos, there is no movement of the substance - they believe it to be nothing but a hard shell above the true insides of the volcano. In this water, there is said to be treasure awaiting beneath - treasure of outrageous stores of Cordisite and other precious materials.
Because of social outcry, scientists have been denied permission to actually sample the innards of the volcano to 'find the truth, for the Heart's sake.' However, many of them, as well, are in fear that even minor tampering could distress their position in the mind of whichever god they pray to.
There's no proof that it's anything but an illusion.
Another common sentiment (or fear) is that the volcano is filled with Blood. That releasing it will taint the surrounding waters forever - and, for its close vicinity to Irasi, the entire country as well.
Never Erupted
While the Lying Volcano is not classified as a dormant one, never once has it shown signs of potential eruption. Never once has its contents threatened to bubble over the surface of its island.
I mean, it always could... Some volcanoes don't show signs until...
There have been speculations about whether the volcano will ever erupt. While the scientific community believes that there's a high chance that it is simply a slow-developing one, the populace see something more to it. They believe that there is a sort of divine factor to it.
Many are convinced that its eruption will commence under the approval of the gods - that once they are satisfied, the Volcano of Lies will spill waterfalls from its depths, rivulets of freshwater breaking the surface of what had until that point appeared to be lava.
A Small Mountain
This volcano, while large enough to have emerged from the seabed, strong enough to surge through The Veins themselves, is relatively small in size, at least at the surface. The island that it has formed is little more than the volcano itself, and so even if humans were to dock there it would amount to something of a difficult task.
Geography
The Volcano of Lies is located just off the coast of southeastern Irasi, just west of Weeping Bay. However, it is seldom explored by tourists or even locals taking advantage of the area - it is viewed as too sacred, too delicate of a location to be disturbed by the blunt, ungentle touch of the general population. While it has not been marked as an exclusive area, societal norms have established it as one by their own standards, of sorts.
A Sole Explorer
There are legends of one brave soul setting out on a journey to discover the truth of the Lying Volcano's depths. While this unnamed adventurer never returned, there are prevalent stories of his leaping within the mountain to discover a world of life beneath - many are of the belief that he and his new aquaintainces are simply lying in wait until they are joined. Or, of course, until they are freed.

Fascinating, a culture centered around the volcano. A wonderful submission my friend!
