Updates From Aerith And Beyond

“I’ve got a book here that claims to predict the future based on star positions, rainfall patterns, and the price of salt in three different ports in a country I’m fairly sure doesn’t exist anymore. Either the world’s far more predictable than anyone lets on, or this thing is just incredibly confident about being wrong in advance. I can respect that. It’s how I’ve survived this long."

Old Scrivener backups are just as a huge pain in the ass to deal with as ever. I don't understand why they refuse to make an updated version of this thing. Now I remember why I stopped using it. Whatever. Some new recipies are coming too, so if you're into that sort of thing, you should find the ones we have on deck seasonally appropriate for Spring and Summer.

Today is my 20th work anniversary.

We've been uploading a wave of 5e stuff from our playtest game of the Seinrill Catacombs. The new rules and 5e content has been building up for awhile. We're still trying some old stuff out. And yes, even trying to work out conversions for spells and items that were written for 2nd Ed. Some things have proved easier than others.

I’ve set up new worlds to house a bunch of other projects from me and Osh. Nothing pretty yet, just storage and the start of an archive. They cover a range of genres.
Osh, who will use this platform if it kills me, is bringing us Heavy Metal Solutions. Which we are
I’m also going to put up another larger work, The Spear. I originally wrote it as a five season television series, which eventually fizzled out because the Television buisness will erode your soul. About six years ago, I reworked a small part of it into a graphic novel. I’ve had too many data scares not to keep all of those files somewhere safe, and it gives me something to revisit and refine when the mood hits.
The random discovery of two huge stacks of assorted CDs and DVDs has been a lot of fun to go through. There’s a ton of material on them I thought was gone for good. Finding pictures of us from 199 none of your business while digging for some nonsense we wrote about elves, and then wondering why I felt the need to burn an ancient WinZip installer for posterity, is nothing short of surreal.

Looking For Us?
After careful consideration, Team Unknown Shores has decided to step away from the World Anvil Discord and will no longer participate in community competitions or events. We have developed serious reservations about how these events are run, and as such, we no longer wish to continue having our work associated with them in that capacity.   We did not come to this decision lightly. While it is unfortunate that we must make this choice, our integrity, and our decades long dedication to the world of Unknown Shores, its fans, and its family of creators, past and present, will always mean far more to us.   Don't worry! We're not going anywhere! We’ll still be here, building, expanding, and sharing what comes next.   So if you're new here, welcome. We say "Get Lost" a lot. It gets attention, sure, but it's also an invitation. We're at the two million word mark now. There's a lot here, and far more coming.   Aerith exists at an impossible nexus, bound to the Great Umbra and the infinite planes that should not be.   And yet, there it is.   So come and explore Aerith. Chances are, you're already here somewhere.   And getting lost means you're part of the adventure too.
