Are You Sure You Wanna Know?

"How the hell should I know what to write? I'm not that interesting!"
— Brian

There's not much to say about me, really. I've been writing, telling stories, and playing games for as long as I can remember. I began working on the world that would eventually become Unknown Shores in 1993, scribbled into the margins of a notebook during class when I should have been paying attention to the teacher. What started as idle notes and half formed ideas slowly became a setting that grew alongside me and never quite let go.

When I am not writing, I am usually running tabletop roleplaying games, and I am a proud forever DM. Most Friday nights I run a Dungeons and Dragons campaign set in Unknown Shores with a small group of players, several of whom have been part of this world almost since its beginning. These are people who grew up with the setting and helped shape it through years of play, contributing characters, history, and moments that have become inseparable from the world itself.

Outside of all that, I am married and live in New Jersey, where I share my home with more cats than is strictly reasonable, along with snakes, tarantulas, and scorpions. By day I am an unassuming civil servant, and by not day I have worked as a voice actor, including roles in anime fan film staples such as This is Otakudom, Project S T E A M, and Fanboy Soze. I collect most things worth collecting, including comic books, toys, pop culture fine art, books, antiques, and antiquities. I am, at heart, a pop culture junkie loudmouth, and I make no real effort to hide it.

Unknown Shores Links

“The world is not a single thing, but a weave of countless strands, each touching the next in ways we rarely see. Follow any one of them far enough and it will lead you to another truth, another story, another reflection of the whole.”
— Entaris Itar

Over the years the setting has spread across multiple platforms, projects, and formats, and this page serves as a single point of reference for all of them. Rather than interrupting articles with scattered links, everything connected to the world and its ongoing development is collected here in one place.

The links below point to places where Unknown Shores is shared, supported, discussed, or expanded, as well as spaces where I maintain a personal presence tied to the project. Some focus on community interaction, some on visual or supplemental material, and others on long term support that helps keep the work moving forward. If you are looking for where the setting continues outside this site, this is where it all connects.

I identify with the beginning of your presentation: a world that has been growing with me for the past 22 years, with contributions from players who still share the table today, and which only a couple of years ago, with the arrival of this project at a friendly store, has started to take shape in a more organic and orderly way. A big greeting, sorry for my poor english...
